Hey soul sister Ain't that Mr.Mister on the Radio, Stereo David had gotten up fairly early, not for any particular reason he just was, he'd sent an owl to Evelyn Dalton saying they should meet up and today was the day he was going to meet up with her, she was a good friend even if she wasnt at Hogwarts anymore. David knew she had work so had decided it was best to meet up with her either before work, which he had decided not too as that was way too early for him, after work which he had decided against because his parents would be wondering where the heck he was if he lost track of time and god knows what time she finished work. That only left him one other option, in one of her breaks, he'd said he'd meet her outside madam malkin's at the agreed time.
He was currently wondering around the shops, he'd gotten his owl some treats from the owl emporium and had been browsing Weasleys Wizard Wheezes for a while untill he decided it was ok to go wait outside Madam Malkin's for her. He'd probably be a few minutes early but what the hell. He'd met Evie when she seemed kind of down in the dumps over being a Gryffindor even though all her family wanted to be in slytherin. He'd comforted her saying stuff like gryffindor girls are hotter and slytherins have to like snakes and just plain being goofy to try and make her smile, it seemed to have worked to a certain extent, she'd befriended him but she had decided against staying at Hogwarts.
David hadn't know her for that long to be honest but he knew he liked her and he knew he wanted to say in touch, the thing he liked the most about her though was the fact she'd come from such a pureblood family who all wanted to be Slytherin and be bad asses but she had still managed to become a Gryffindor, the same house as some of the most noblest and courageous and kindest wizards and witches around. She may not have liked it but he liked the fact she used to be Gryffindor. She was also easy to joke with, he'd joke about the way she looked as well, she looked stunning but he'd joke and say he looked better or he'd do the opposite and say he was only hanging around with her because if guys saw him with her it would raise his street cred.
So there David stood, outside madam malkin's, waiting for Evie who would probably finish work soon for a break and then she'd have to rush back to work again, David honestly didnt mind what they did he just wanted to hang out with her for a while as it had seemed like ages since they last spoke, they probably didnt have much to speak about though as what the heck could happen that was so influential in such little time. with folks like me on the job from nine to five, pour myself a cup of ambition WHAT A WAY TO MAKE A LIVIN' . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Not many people of a young age enjoyed part-time employment. A few did, but for the majority, a job of this sort was simply taken in order to earn some money. Now while she didn’t need the money, unlike many people who applied for a job of the nature that she had been employed in, it was true that she didn’t particularly look forward to going to work each and every day. She wasn’t like some who despised their jobs, but forced a happy face in front of their boss, but she didn’t enjoy every aspect of the job, mostly because it could become very boring very quickly. During the summer, it wasn’t so bad, as loads of students and their families were looking for robes for the upcoming school year, but during other months, it was close to unbearable when the shop was quiet, and she had little in the way of entertainment or company. The effects of early mornings were also beginning to take its toll on her, quite noticeably, through her frequent and undisturbed daydreaming. Whilst daydreams were nearly always interesting and delightful to indulge in, they did not help her to earn any money. The reasons for working at Madam Malkin’s were quite simple: one, it was hard to damage anything with her clumsiness, and two, due to her opportunity to earn some money.
Fortunately for many customers and other members of staff, Evelyn Dalton wasn’t a Dalton that regularly felt the need to bring up how something was failing in her expectations, or to moan about it. As jobs went, hers was actually quite enjoyable when the shop was busy. It was just the quiet periods that became near unbearable. Still, she wasn’t about to give in or give up, because she was incredibly stubborn when she wanted to be. This morning had been one that didn’t slot neatly into the quiet or busy option, instead being a mixture of both. Of course, this was likely to change when she returned to the shop later. For now, she was more than content to take a well-earned break. Slipping on her coat over her bright and recognisable uniform, she said goodbye to the remaining other people in the shop, before removing her head of any work-related thoughts for the duration of her break. As she walked towards the door, the figure of a person near her age came into clear view. It was at this moment, after shutting the door behind her, that she ran towards him, excitedly embracing him in a hug, before leading him to the middle of the street, away from the entrance, in case other people needed to get past them.
It was perhaps an unexpected and loud reaction, but she was honestly quite relieved to see him. She couldn’t even name the last time she had spent a significant amount of time with this person since leaving the school a few weeks ago. Although David had clearly done his best to try and convince her that Hogwarts wasn’t all that bad, she had never truly felt comfortable within the walls, despite feeling a strong sense of gratefulness towards the boy who has befriended her. “You came!”
she said, beaming at him, and gradually remembering that he was probably expecting to speak at some point during this meeting. “How have you been?” Since she hadn't seen him for a while, it was entirely possible that he would have some interesting things to mention, but she was willing to let him take his time to start those conversations, seeing as she had an hour to spend with him, before she had to return to the real world of adulthood and employment. Hey soul sister Ain't that Mr.Mister on the Radio, Stereo David's parents had been trying to convince him to get a part time job but he didnt want one, what did he need a job for he'd only have to quit it to go back to Hogwarts, he'd just wait untill he'd finished Hogwarts and had some amazing grades to get an amazing Job, he was a ravenclaw after all so he was brainy.. even if he acted like a goof sometimes to try and make people laugh. David was actually randomly having a stare off with a cat that was sitting on a wall the other side of the street. Stupid cat staring at me i bet you'll give up first he thought glaring at the cat, he was actually willing the cat to give up and move on, then it did. YES GET IN!! he thought to himself feeling triumphant even if it was only a silly cat.
Just as he was about to get fully aware of his surroundings again instead of just a cat he got hugged.. rather forcefully. "Easy there you'll squeeze me to death" he said knowing who it was and hugging her back. He'd missed Evie.. it was boring at Home with nobody to speak to but your family, he'd spent most of his days messing about with a snitch on his broom. Obviously he did this miles away from any muggles because he'd be screwed if any muggles saw him. He let Evie lead him too the middle of the street. He then took a step back to look at her, she was obviously hiding her work uniform under that coat and he would make her show him sometime because he could do with a laugh. She looked good though, nobody could deny that it was hard to believe something so dainty and elegant could be so clumsy as Evie was but heck he liked her being clumsy, it was funny and a girl that could make David laugh, on purpose or not was a girl David liked.
"Well of course i came, have i ever let you down?" he asked with a smile, he was a loyal friend.. a bit like a hufflepuff but he was smart as well so he'd ended up in Ravenclaw. The only house he could never see himself in would be Slytherin he just wasnt that cunning. "It's been boring I'd much rather hear what you've been up to" David said with a smile, it was true, she must have been up to more then him even if it was just working in a clothes shop. "You look stunning by the way, big coats are so your style" he joked with a wink, although the big coat did kind of make her look smaller then usual, he liked it she looked like she could be picked up and put into his pocket, ok that was over exaggerating a lot but oh well he was the type of guy to over exaggerate stupidly, if nobody over exaggerated most stories would be extremely boring. with folks like me on the job from nine to five, pour myself a cup of ambition WHAT A WAY TO MAKE A LIVIN' . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . As employment went, it was still much preferable to the idea of being forced to go back to Hogwarts for another year. She couldn’t imagine that her parents shared the same enthusiasm for her newfound independence, seeing as she’d eventually managed to find something that she wanted to do. Of course, it was evident that it was the training in a certain career field which was much more important to her than the part-time job, although this occasionally gave her reason and opportunity to talk to several attractive males whilst she was catering for them in the shop. This gave her an easy route to conversation, as opposed to her usual unplanned crashing into them, as she fell over in the corridor. She had yet to tell her parents that she wasn’t going to have any more aspects of her life controlled by them – she didn’t want to find herself in the same ridiculous situation as her cousins. For her, the controlling her life up until this point, changes in education included, was enough. She was taking her life into her own hands now, hence she had chosen to pursue a career which she had always been interested in, even if it didn’t seem to fit with the Dalton ideals. Caring for anyone else but those in your family was viewed as a strange concept by most of them.
Still grinning, she laughed at his hasty exclamation after she’d practically attacked him out of nowhere. “I can’t help it if I’m rather excited to see you again.”
Being Evie, the reaction he’d managed to get was a good one. She generally didn’t show that much emotion around other people. Her overdramatic greeting was a mark of how much she appreciated her friend. “Maybe I’ll hug that guy over there in future, I doubt he’d protest as much.” Of course she was joking about this part. She wouldn’t ever go around, hugging random people. Even if she got a positive reaction to her actions, she would have felt really awkward and weird about doing it. Wrapping the coat around her, she turned to have a better view of her friend. How long had it actually been since they had last sat and talked like this? It seemed much more unlikely that they would have time to do this, when he returned to the school. Yes, it was clear that they would have to make the most of the summer they had together, whenever she could find the time between her two priorities. It was unexpected, but she was already making the most of her free days, by exploring parts of the wizarding world that she liked. The last time she visited Hogsmede, everything had taken a most surprising but pleasant turn. “Point,” she acknowledged, without needing to think about it. In those few short months that she had got to know him, he had always been there for her, even when she didn’t realise or admit that she needed help. Had she been anyone else, this would probably have been the point where they went through a deep consideration process, wondering whether they’d made a mistake in leaving. But, due to her attitude and decisive nature, the thought never occurred to her. Sure, she was somewhat sad that she wouldn’t see David as much as before, but they could work around that. It was obvious to her, and probably him as well, that she was all the happier for finally leaving Hogwarts. “I’m sure your life hasn’t been boring,” she answered, not believing that nothing had happened to him since the last time they’d talked. “But, since you ask, my life’s starting up now, just this week I was invited to a Vogue party.” Okay, she was unable to leave some of the sarcasm behind. “Just kidding, my life isn’t that exciting. I’m just trying to juggle a social life, with two other commitments.” Giving a small chuckle at his comment about her snazzy dress sense, she nodded. “Yes, people never fail to notice my excellent array of coats and jackets here.” [/blockquote][/blockquote] . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Hey soul sister Ain't that Mr.Mister on the Radio, Stereo It probably looked like David had just got randomly hugged by some random girl to most people watching but he honestly didnt care, sure nobody realy liked people thinking they were weird but David was weird he just accepted that and it was a good sign if he was weird in front of you because that meant he was comfortable around you. David felt amazingly comfortable with Evie, every thought in his head and word on his tongue came naturally and he'd do pretty much anything in front of her without feeling awkward.. well except stuff like undress.. that would be weird but things like burp heck he'd probably lean in to kiss her then burp in her face whilst she's panicking that she doesn't want to kiss him... I should like so do that sometime.. he thought the look on her face would be priceless.
David faked a rather over the top gasp when she said that she would hug some random guy in future. He quickly wrapped his arms around her and gave her a squeeze "No, he doesn't deserve your huggles!" he said then let her go with a smile, and looked into her eyes, she had nice eyes, they were innocent.. if eyes could be innocent. "Plus its a well known fact that i am the worlds best hugger" David said with a nod, as if he had some sort of certificate for it and an award with a trophy and everything... he didnt but he kind of wished he had, he'd carry the certificate everywhere and it would be amazing to help get girls. although he'd probably screw it up with his goofiness anyway.
David nodded "Sadly it has, the most exciting thing that's happend so far is that i was minding my own business and some random cute girl hugged me" he said smirking slightly, they both knew he was going on about her, it was true though this had been one of the best thing's he'd done, the rest of his time had mainly been spent reading as he like many other Ravenclaws loved books, he liked learning things he never knew before and he liked the books that took you out of your own world and into some made up one all in your own head. "Oh well vogue is so your style i can see you rocking that party with your awesome coats" David said with a laugh although if she dressed up a little he could easily imagine her among the upper class at a vogue party. "Well it must be better then what I've been doing which is sitting at home reading.. come on you must have done something fairly interesting" David said tilting his head to the side slightly. "Now that coat looks simply fabulous darling but I'm more interested in what you have on under that amazing coat" he said in his most campest fashion guru voice.. it didnt feel exactly natural but hey he was only trying to make her smile which was worth it. The way you move aint fair, you know! Wearing: Outfit Comment: huggles ftw ^_^ Lyrics: Hey Soul Sister - Train Credit: Me

with folks like me on the job from nine to five, pour myself a cup of ambition WHAT A WAY TO MAKE A LIVIN' . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . If she was going to continue to use people as examples to prove her point, she should really have conducted a survey of the area beforehand. Because, she’d ended up pointing towards a man that looked like he was about fifty. That was probably slightly better than the eleven and twelve year old children just down the street though. She might be thought of as weird, if she wanted to randomly go up and hug children. The one thing that didn’t make people panic as much, was when the person talking to the child was female. This was stupid, in her opinion, as not every man wanted to kidnap children, and a considerable amount of women were less than innocent. Best to check whom she was indicating towards in future. It was probably a good thing that he hadn’t heard as well. Sure, he looked like a married businessman, but what if he had wanted a hug from her? That would have been one of the most uncomfortable experiences in her life, one that was purely down to her. Shaking her head, as though ridding her mind of all of these thoughts, she grinned back at her companion. It was amazing how she’d known him for a mere eight weeks or so, and she already felt at ease around him. Saying this, it must have been down to her changing attitude or something since leaving, because she was starting to feel like this around other people. Some sceptical people might have claimed it was because she wasn’t that used to people before going to Hogwarts.
“You’re probably right,”
she agreed, casting another quick look at the man, who was probably feeling a little bit more than self-conscious at this point, with two teenagers glancing back at him every so often. If only he knew how innocent the conversation concerning him was. Turning her back on him, without a second glance, she laughed again at his exaggerated claim. “You’re good,” she admitted slowly, as though taking it all into deep consideration, “But you’re not that good.” Regardless of how good he was at hugging, she was sure there were people who were better. Maybe people who studied the art of hugging for twenty years. They had to be better, right? It made sense that the people who the best huggers were those who had done it more often. Surely it was the same principle as it was for the majority of skills? She couldn’t see why hugging would be that different. It was obvious though that no matter whether the best hugger in the world was stood right next to her, she’d ignore him every time, in favour of David. Although she’d never said this, she was sure that he was able to pick up on her manner towards him. There was nothing to be gained in an embrace that contained no real feeling towards the other person involved. Besides, although she didn’t want his head to become engorged due to ego, he did give some of the best hugs she’d ever received. Shaking her head, at his claims that she had been the most exciting thing in his life for the past two months, she titled her head to the side somewhat, despairing slightly at his lack of activity. “Well, next time, you can come to the Vogue parties with me.” She laughed, not being able to imagine either of them fitting in well with the stereotypical people who attended those kinds of events. “Luckily for me, big coats are back in the season,” she returned, adopting the superiority of models, as she twirled around, to demonstrate the lovely look that a big coat gave the average girl. “You know,” she replied, shrugging, not really thinking her life to be that exciting, but still better than remaining in education. “Can’t complain, I’ve met some nice people whilst wandering around.” It was as soon as the last word had left her lips that she realised that this was undoubtedly going to lead to questions about the people she was enjoying the company of. At least it was he. The situation would have been more than a little bit awkward if she had been talking to a member of her own family. At the change of his tone of voice to one that sounded like a flamboyant gay man, her eyes widened slightly, in surprise. “I’m worried about how convincing your gay fashion voice is.” If he was anyone else, she would have believed that he might be gay. Hey soul sister Ain't that Mr.Mister on the Radio, Stereo David actually looked at the guy she had pointed at for the first time and almost burst out laughing, he managed to control himself though. It was some old guy.. ok he probably wasnt that old but whatever he was no spring daisy.David looked back at Evelyn. "That guy could probably do with a hug, he looks like a depressed businessman who works nine to five in a boring office job.. i bet he goes home to wife who settled for him as she couldnt get some other guy.." David said creating the guy's back story even if it wasnt true "Poor guy.." He said, David would hate it if someone just 'settled for him' he wanted a girl that cared about him but he'd wait a while for that.
David smiled as she said he was a good hugger then let out a rather over the top gasp again. "I'll have you know I'm the worlds best hugger and if you say otherwise I'll have to challenge you a hug off." David said with a nod, not that he knew what a hug off was he was just making this up as he went along. He was sure he could come up with the rules off it though if he had too.. maybe it was one long hug and the person who pulled away first lost. That could work.. or they could both end up hugging for ages and look like weirdo's... not that David cared about looking like a weirdo.. he looked like one a lot anyway.
"All right!" David said imagining himself in some fur coat looking like a pimp dancing with a load of vogue models.. like that would ever happen. "Well we would rock the party" David said with a nod, he was fairly sure the parties would be... different if he and Evie went to them. David gave her a wolf whistle whilst she spun. "That actually suits you" David said honestly. "Meet anyone nice?" David asked curiously, he wanted to know if she had met anyone he knew to be honest but he would just let her explain who she met in her own way. "Yeah.. my gay voice is strangely convincing.. its kind of worrying for me as well actually" He said scratching the back of his neck.. at least if he ever had to he could pretend he was gay... not that he'd realy need that ability much. with folks like me on the job from nine to five, pour myself a cup of ambition WHAT A WAY TO MAKE A LIVIN' . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Since it would have been too much attention for the guy to have two people glancing to and fro every couple of seconds, she had decided not to look at him again, unless absolutely necessary. It wasn’t like she wanted to focus on this man, he just happened to be in her line of vision when she’d indicated towards the space where he happened to be standing. He wasn’t any more interesting than the rest of people who were walking around the alley, so she felt her attention should be concerned with her friend, with whom was the reason that she was pointing towards anyone else. Dismissing the middle-aged man, she finally turned her back on him, only to find that the random man now intrigued David. Rolling her eyes, but laughing, she waved a hand in front of his face, trying to bring his attention back to her. Not that she was an attention whore or anything like that. She just felt that she deserved more attention than someone in the background. “You might be right,”
she admitted, working through what she remembered of the man, thinking it fitted somewhat. But saying this, not many men enjoyed shopping, so it could have easily been a famous millionaire as a depressed businessman. “Bet he has a hot son though.” Scanning through the crowds for a second, she shook her head and grinning, switched her gaze to that of her friend instead. Even though David was the male in their friendship, both would have immediately agreed that he was generally the more dramatic of the two. There was no need for dramatics in her life, excepting a few occasions. This wasn’t to say that she disapproved of people who could over dramatise situations, simply that drama had never really been a big part of her life until she met some people of her age at Hogwarts. The tendency to overplay situations happened to be one of the things that she loved about this boy, however, as it never failed to make her laugh. It was strange; seeing as she wasn’t as fond of the same quality in people she wasn’t used to or particularly fond of, so it had to be the combination of his personality and the trait, not just the drama alone. “What’s a hug off?” she asked, curiously, dismissing his confident tone. Knowing him reasonably well, she was doubtful that he had any idea what he was suggesting now. He tended to go with his thoughts as they came to him, another reason why they seemed to get along so well – she possessed this characteristic too. However, where they differed was that she usually just made decisions, without alerting anyone else, and he seemed to love talking at loud volumes as each thought came to him. The people around them were probably already watching them with a look as though they were both insane. Let them, she thought, shrugging. After giggling for several minutes, she managed to calm herself down, putting the thought of them strolling around the famous parties, with no care or elegance between them. Knowing him, he’d probably hug some random girl, and she’d be knocking valuable artefacts on the floor, causing them to have to leave early and run off, leaving the rest of the guests to face the chaos they’d left behind. Actually, this sounded like something they should do, merely to see the expressions of the rich and famous when two young, unimportant people like themselves turned up, uninvited and left the place in a mess. “We so would,” she grinned, pretty sure that they were working through similar impressions of the Vogue atmosphere. “And for all your flattery, the fact remains the same – big coats should never be worn in late summer. I feel like a Yeti.” She was hoping that she didn’t look like one also. It wasn’t the most comfortable of outfits either, but it was better than the alternative or waltzing down the middle of Diagon Alley in her rather fetching shop uniform. “I meet lots of people, so obviously a few of them will be nice,” she replied, as though deliberately avoiding the response that he clearly wanted. “And a guy called Samuel Cooper” she stated, at a very fast rate, as though she had been reciting this part of her answer for such questions. Hey soul sister Ain't that Mr.Mister on the Radio, Stereo David smirked as she waved her hand infront of his face. "Yes i can see you" He said with a grin, then nodded as she said he might be right. "Well obviously I'm right, im always right" he joked then rolled his eyes at the next thing Evie said. "I bet he has a hot daughter" he said sticking his tongue out at her childish as if it was some sort of competition. Evie would often mention guys around David.. he'd tend to make some comment up like he just did or ignore it because he was hardly going to go 'oh yeah i bet he does have some extremely hot son'.. why was he not going to do that? because for one, he didnt know the guy and more importantly and more relevantly, he was straight.. even if he did act and dress a bit differently then most straight people.. and most gay people.. he was his own little creation.
Then came the inevitable question of 'what is a hug off?' well David was making this up as he goes a long like most of the stuff he does. "Well it's like a hug, but it lasts for ages, and then the person that pulls away first.. looses" he said with a nod, it sounded reasonable to him, and he was fairly sure he could hug someone for a long period of time in case someone ever actually challenged him to this crazy hug off that he'd just invented. David noticed someone not so far away from them so decided to just watch them back, the guy got weirded out slightly by the sudden eye contact and walked off. David one, Random Guy nill he thought to himself, not that the random guy would ever get a point.
David smiled as Evie giggled, she had a nice giggle.. then again all laughter in any shape or form was nice in his opinion, except evil laughter and cackles there not so cool. He was fairly sure they had the same image of the vogue party in there heads. "well if you feel like a yeti then take it off" David said rolling his eyes then added "Or at least dont have it done up". "Oh.. ok.." he said then paused a moment as she mentioned someones name fairly fast, but he had caught it. "Samuel Cooper.." he thought it rang a bell in his head but he just didnt know where. "Whats he look like?" he asked curiously thinking that maybe if he knew the guy's appearance he would know where he got the name from. The way you move aint fair, you know! Tutting to herself as he continued to ignore her for a while, she scowled as he claimed to be able to see her, without looking at her directly. “Maybe I should leave you two alone?”
she suggested, a slight playful tone creeping into her voice, as she tried to stop herself from bursting into laughter. “Because he’s obviously much nicer to look at.” Knowing that he’d instantly come back with a similar retort once she speculated about the possibilities of good-looking people in his family, she grinned at the boy. “You’re so predictable, David.” Of course she’d known that he was bound to respond in such a way, in fact, she had almost been counting on it. Really, she should have found some unsuspecting random and made a bet on what he was going to say next, thereby making her money out of the equation also. As it was, she was more than content to accept her sense of knowledge as a reward. “He might,” she admitted, as though allowing him to be ‘right’ for once. “But even if he did, she wouldn’t be as cute as the company you have right now.” It was a shame, in a way, that the boy wasn’t gay, because every girl needed a gay friend. It was like the ultimate accessory. Someone who knew your style and loved to spend time with you, without the romance side attached to everything. “Yes, funnily enough, I managed to guess that much,” she answered, still with the same amused, yet curious expression on her face. Evidently, a hug off was something that had to do with, or involved the act of hugging someone. That act of doing what he was proposing would have sounded like a crazy thing, if anyone else had heard it, but she was used to him coming up with random ideas. No doubt this was an explanation that had come to his head, very conveniently, at the very minute she asked him, so she wasn’t expecting him to give her the dictionary definition of his claims. She had to hand it to him though, this time, he’d made it sound quite convincing. It wasn’t that he had never made something sound believable before, just that more often than not, she found herself being rather suspicious of his explanations behind certain things that he spoke about. It seemed plausible that such a thing as a hug-off existed. Shrugging, she decided to let it go. “Alright, but I’ll win, and you’ll be the one left here, looking embarrassed,” she warned him, ever-so-sweetly. It didn’t matter what they were doing, she always liked to be the winner. She was highly competitive, a trait shared by most members of her family. Nobody in that house liked to lose. It made some situations very awkward. Laughing with her friend made her reminiscence to similar times spent together, when he had also managed to make her laugh so easily. She liked the fact that he acted as he would by himself around her. It made things much simpler, without all of the angst with other people. She also loved that she was able to be herself around him. This was not an easy ask of other people of her age. Shaking her head at his proposal, she refused to do as he asked. “I think I’d rather feel like a Yeti,” she laughed, not wanting to walk around and have people stare at the uniform she was wearing underneath. “Besides, it’s not that hot yet. I can cope. I’m a strong girl.” Her eyes lighting up with a tint of mischief, she turned back to face him rather suddenly, before speaking again. “But, now you mention it, I’m beginning to see a certain pattern. Care to explain why you’re so eager for me to take my clothes off?” He had not deliberately phrased anything he said to sound this way, which she knew of, but it was always amusing to tease him. Biting her lip at his question, she paused for a few seconds, before finding her voice, “Well, he’s tall, brownish hair, works in Hogsmede, you know?”[/blockquote][/blockquote] . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Hey soul sister Ain't that Mr.Mister on the Radio, Stereo "Don't you dare do that face to me" he said in a tone a parent would use to there misbehaving child, he wasnt even looking at her he was staring at the man but he could see her in the corner of his eye. "Oh now your just fishing for compliments" he joked returning his attention to her then added "And i am so not predictable!" he was sure of it, well.. almost sure of it, he wasnt predictable.. and if anyone predicted what he was going to do it was simply a lucky guess. David laughed as she mentioned herself being cute, he couldnt deny it though "Yeah you realy are fishing for compliments today, but i have to hand it too you, your good looking" he was hardly going to lie and call her butt ugly.
"wow big achievement for you, guessing something that's so obvious" he said sticking his tongue out at her jokingly, he liked how he could be himself around Evie and how she could be herself.. at least he presumed she was being herself.. it was hard to tell because he could hardly become someone else and see what she was like to other people. "If there's one thing you should know about me, it's the fact i never get embarrassed.. so bring it on" he said with a nod, ok that wasnt exactly true everyone got embarrassed but it did take a lot to get him embarrassed.
"Well i dont see whats so bad with just taking your coat off" he said with a shrug and added "but if you dont want to take it off it's fine by me". The next thing she did say he hadn't realy been expecting and he didnt have a smart comeback, he stood there scratching the back of his neck awkwardly for a while looking at the floor then he returned his eyes to her and said "Well clearly i have some unresolved feelings towards you" he said acting deadly serious, although she could probably tell he was simply acting. Although not long after they had first met he had a few.. thought and dreams of them both, but that had passed, it was all dead and gone and he was over it, they were simply thoughts and possibilities and would make everything weird, he was happy with Evie being a friend. David began to search his memory "He sounds familiar.." he admitted but he couldnt think of anything at the moment, he'd have to see the guy to know for sure if David knew him. with folks like me on the job from nine to five, pour myself a cup of ambition WHAT A WAY TO MAKE A LIVIN' . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . How could he possibly know that she was pulling any kind of face behind his back? Although there was always the possibility that he had simply guessed that she would be doing so, it had to be said that a guess of this sort was unlikely and an extraordinary talent. As much as she might like the guy standing in front of her, she doubted that he was capable of this level of ability. Thinking about it now, such a talent would be useful. Shame that neither of them actually possessed the talent. Nodding, she agreed, “Of course. I need a compliment from you everyday. Compliments are my reason for living and breathing.”
Feeling the need to act this, as it was a truly melodramatic sentence, she feigned a convincing performance. Or it would have been, if she hadn’t managed to trip over her own feet during it. Dusting herself off, she stood up, whilst surveying the area to check whether anyone else had noticed. To be honest, they probably would have heard it. It wasn’t graceful at all. However, unlike David, they were unlike to think over it, as it wasn’t interesting to them. At least, she hoped it wasn’t. “Well, I’m glad we agree on that. I’ll pass on the bad news to his daughter.” For the first time, she was grateful she had the coat on. That fall would have hurt without such cushioning. “Alright, Summers, just because you’re in Ravenclaw doesn’t make you much smarter than me,” she pouted, sticking her tongue out at his mocking insult. Although she was pretty sure that the sorting did mean that. And what did she get in return? The fact that she was supposed to be brave and bold. Anyone who knew her would laugh at this. She certainly never saw these qualities in herself, so if they were there, they must have been extremely deep down. In all honesty, any other house would have suited her fine, except the one where she was the only member of her family in that house. There were also problems when the other proper Gryffindor students expected one to be like them. That just never happened. Hence why she eagerly took the first exit out. As he came out with yet another fantastic claim about his personality, she had to agree that this one happened to be true. Out of all the times that she’d spent with him, she had seen him blush only one time, and that had surprised her immensely. This was something that he had that seemed a little bit alien. Everyone blushed or stuttered out of embarrassment occasionally. She wasn’t one to blush often, but she still became self-conscious by her behaviour more than he ever did. That was another ability well worth having in her opinion. Or the ability to get embarrassed, but show no visible signs of it seemed equally good. Truthfully, although it might have appeared that she had some sort of problem with removing her outer clothing, or that she had some small concerns, it wasn’t that. She couldn’t explain exactly why she had no intentions of taking her coat off. Grinning at the fact she’d finally been able to make him show some signs of awkwardness, she laughed when he had no instant snap-reply to her question. Perhaps sadly for her, he managed to summon up some words and respond a few minutes later. “You do?” she questioned, as though she believed him. “Well, that couldn’t have come at a worst time. The thing is, I’ve met someone else.” The tone of seriousness was dropped from her voice, as she remembered those weeks at Hogwarts when she’d considered the thing they were discussing. Se was impressed, however, as they had both managed to sound rather convincing in their reactions. That was, she was expecting this to be an act. She couldn’t imagine such a statement from her friend to be the solemn truth. Although she was taking this to be a joke, she couldn’t escape the feeling that maybe this led quite neatly onto the topic of who she had been talking to recently. Frowning for a second, she tried to think of a way that David would remember the guy. “You might know him by reputation?” she suggested, far too casually. “Used to go to Hogwarts.”[/blockquote][/blockquote] . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Hey soul sister Ain't that Mr.Mister on the Radio, Stereo David rolled his eyes slightly at her statement about the compliments, he then watched her go down to the floor as he stood there with his arms crossed. "Now your just being a drama queen" he said rolling his eyes with a laugh. "Woah there, just because your hot doesn't mean I'm not interested in the guy's daughter" he said with a smirk, Evie apparently had found a guy now which he was glad for her about but a part of him was jealous.. not because he wanted Evie.. but because he wanted to find someone that cared about him and he cared about.
"Oh im way smarter then you Dalton" he said challengingly. He personally didnt think he was smarter then her and he was sure he was braver then him so maybe the hat had only put her in gryffindor because of that fact, maybe if someone was dumb but there brains was the best thing about them they would still end up in Ravenclaw, he wasnt exactly sure. David was going to keep this serious act up for a while so when she said it couldnt have come at a worst time he made his eyes go slightly wider then the next thing she said he let out a breathless "no.." then he looked down at the floor "This.. it it.. it cant be.. but i.. and we.. no!" he then put both of his hands in his hair covering up the small smirk on his face, he was a fairly good actor. David slowly looked back up at her "Wait a second.. i think i know him.. you cant date him" he said being a bit parental and commanding but he didnt care, he would not let Evie date someone like Sam. with folks like me on the job from nine to five, pour myself a cup of ambition WHAT A WAY TO MAKE A LIVIN' . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . She could see that he wasn't impressed, but what was more troubling for her, was the fact that he was so used to her falling over that he wasn't even concerned with offering to help her up. Huffing, she pouted, "Thanks for the help there, by the way, much appreciated."
Returning the same expression, she mimicked his eye roll entirely, grinning as she did so shortly afterwards. It was quite difficult for her to retain a frown for more than about five minutes, especially in present company. There was just something about the boy that made her happy to be around him, although she never denied it, she probably didn't need to say anything either, it was slightly more than a little bit obvious. "Me being a drama queen?" she inquired, as though this was something that was beyond ridiculous. "Whatever makes you say that?" In all truth, yes, she had the capacity to act like a drama queen, she just didn't use this ability very often. Just in those situations where she thought she could benefit. Otherwise, it was pointless, not to mention completely annoying if anyone used this particular act regularly. One of the best things about David was that he never overreacted to stupid things. Recently, this quality seemed to be a increasingly rare one to find, so she was incredibly grateful for it. "Oh, so the whole thing was an act, you've moved on rather fast," she commented, giving him a rather convincing look of disapproval. "Fine, go after that girl. I suppose you'd better hurry up and ask her out, so she can reject you, I'll comfort you, and we can all move on with our lives." She didn't really think that a random girl would reject her friend with one simple look, but what did she know? She wasn't usually around when he talked to other girls. Apparently she laughed too much to be permitted near these girls. This was only partially true. She liked to think that it was due to the fact that he couldn't think properly around her. Something that always amused her, and never failed to be funny when she questioned it. Some of these girls were so sensitive though. Beth would murder them, with a few sharp words in their direction. It seemed somewhat unfair to her, but she supposed he had a point about wanting her out of the picture. It would be equally awkward if he was around to witness her with some random guy. Clearly, there were lines in a friendship that should never be crossed, to save a sense of uneasiness between the two parties. Being there to see the other with someone of the opposite sex was evidently one of these. Perhaps it was best to maintain the status quo here. Shaking her head at him, fiercely, as though he might misinterpret her words if they were not accompnied by such an expression, she gave a small sigh. "You say that like you don't believe it, but ask yourself this, who was the one sorted into Ravenclaw?" It was true. In her mind, if not also in his, she knew that he was more intelligent than her. Why else would he be in Ravenclaw, and she be trying to afford to keep her other desired job at Mungo's. The answer to all these things seemed obvious to her - he was the more intelligent of them both, whether he knew it or not. Distracted almost instantly, as he also was by her act of them having unfufilled potential as a couple, she laughed a little bit. "I know, but sadly, it was not meant to be. Fortunately, you're going to find a girl who's even better than me, as unbelievable as that might seem." And there it was. As she had predicted in her head, he was going to do the protective thing. It might have been weird, but Evie would have found it ten times easier to tell her father that she was dating somebody than it was to tell David the same small detail. However, she was not entirely prepared for his reaction to the name, which seemed to switch a lightbulb on in his head at that moment. "Calm down, first off, nobody said anything about dating anyone." A small smile flickered across her face, that was meant to provide him with some comfort, "And, secondly, what makes you think you get to decide which guys I date anyway?"[/blockquote][/blockquote] . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Hey soul sister Ain't that Mr.Mister on the Radio, Stereo "Oh.. yeah.. sorry" truth was he had just forgotten about helping her up because he was used to her accidentally falling over then getting up before anyone could help then she would exclaim to the world that she is in fact fine and everyone would go about there business. "Mainly the fainting on the floor.." he said then added "But also the little crown on top of your head with the word drama on it" he was acting kind of seriously but clearly he was just joking, he'd joke around a lot and a lot of people would get annoyed with him, Evie on the other hand would joke back and that was probably one of the main reasons they were such good friends.
"Well your not available.. if you were I'd be all over you like butter on bread" he said with a little smirk knowing that would just never happen, even if he did like Evie he was the kind of guy never to mention it unless like.. she showed some major sign of liking him.. and it would have to be a huge sign like a kiss or something. "What makes you think I'll get rejected?" he asked curiously, he didnt see anything wrong with himself, he was a catch! Well he was a catch if you were into guys with long hair that would wear skinny jeans and act weird and you could cope with not being jealous because of his best friend being a girl.
"..well.. me" he said, there wasnt anything else he could have said as he was the one in Ravenclaw and she was the Gryffindor.. well.. used to be a Gryffindor. "I dont think there is a girl better and as unbelievable as you" he said honestly, she was an amazing friend, the only fault he could find with her is the fact she was clumsy, but so was he sometimes, mainly from him just being silly though. David was relieved for a moment when she said nobody mentioned dating, then his brain began to think and it was going overtime. Then came her second comment and by then his mind was worked up. "You get to choose the guy but your a terrible choice, he's a dick and it'll only en bad, and he shouldn't be dating you, or kissing you, or whatever else you could possibly think of, i mean I'd rather it be me dating you then someone like him, he's no good and it'll only end bad!" he told her rather strictly, he was clearly not amused. The way you move aint fair, you know! Wearing: Outfit Comment: David is not amused. Lyrics: Hey Soul Sister - Train Credit: Me
