( hey, soul sister ) ( ain't that mister mister on the radio, stereo ) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Cassidy sighed as she made her way down the hall towards the library, her textbooks in tow. Since exams were coming up, she set up a study regimen in order to keep herself on track. In past years, she had been known to skirt by and pass without any effort, but her aunt had challenged her to excel not just pass. So, here Cassidy was, the library. As she walked in, she glanced around at the other students. For a library, it was rather noisy. Probably a bunch of people cramming for exams, just like she was. She pushed her way through gaggle of guys standing around the door, blocking her way and when she finally got out of the pit she scanned the room for an empty table. She noticed one off to the side and set her stuff down. Before she sat down, she looked around, there were scores and scores of books all around her. Cassidy had only been in the library once or twice and had not really appreciated the size of it.
After a moment, she sat down and randomly picked a book out of the pile. 'Transfiguration...great' she thought with a sigh. Transfiguration was easily her least favorite class and one she actually had to work to keep up in. Cassidy pulled out a sheet of paper and glanced over the list of topics that she needed to know. She had quickly scrawled it down last class for studying purposes knowing that if she didn't have the objectives in front of her she would get absolutely nothing out of her little study sessions. She threw her hair up into a haphazard bun and then began making her way down the list. After a what seemed like hours but was most likely no more than ten minutes, she got bored and glanced around the room again, looking for any kind of distraction. This time she caught the eye of a few people, none of which she knew or, to be brutally honest, really was interested in knowing. Cassidy was all for being polite and accepting others, but she wasn't one to waste her time or anybody else's by striking up a conversation with someone she had no intention of speaking with again.
She finally gave up on finding someone else to distract her. Despite the fact that the noise in the room had died down she had been sufficiently distracted and she wasn't able to finish any work so her thoughts began to drift. Cassidy proceeded to doodle on her notebook, thinking of anything and everything other than her school work. She glanced around; the group of guys had given up on whatever it was that they were doing and dispersed. After they had left, the noise level was considerably lower and Cassidy silently chastised herself for her lack of drive. She turned her attention back to her Transfiguration book and spent a good thirty minutes working productively. After a while though, she felt someone's eyes on her. She tried to ignore them and continue studying but the possibility of another distraction was way too tempting and weakened her resolve. She turned around to find the set of wandering eyes that were keeping her from studying.

You run, On the floor Feels like dancing is the way to go
But if you let her see that fancy footwork
Arthur had decided it was about time to do a bit of revision so he'd planned to spend a little time in the library, that had been like a day ago and he'd got distracted by pretty much everything as everything was way more interesting then revising but he was sure he would manage to get a little bit done today he was heading to the library. A crowd of guys passed him on the way and he was tempted to join them and see what was going on but he slapped himself mentally and carried on into the Library.
It was quiet, well it was a library but it was the kind of quiet in the movies someone would say 'its quiet, too quiet'. Arthur was thinking about saying it and then maybe something interesting would happen but he decided against it as he'd look weird saying it then standing there expecting to be ambushed by ninjas or something. He browsed some of the books that were closest to him and pulled out one about quidditch, he was meant to be revising but he'd deffinetly take a look at the book when he was done, he also took out a book about Charms then looked to find somewere to sit.
He noticed a seat but there was a girl sitting there as well so he wasn't sure whether to join her or not, he couldnt realy approach girls he'd never known how to start conversations.. he could keep them going but starting them was hard. All he could see was the back of her head so it for all he knew could have been a guy with long hair but he presumed it was a girl as nobody had long hair that was a guy except him, his hair was possibly the longest out of all the guys. Then he saw her head turn to look at him so he span around to face the opposite direction hoping it wasn't obvious he had been watching her. Show her that your not that shy. ( hey, soul sister ) ( ain't that mister mister on the radio, stereo ) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -As she turned around to find her latest distraction she saw a guy quickly turn the other direction. Cassidy was almost positive that was the person who had been staring at the back of her head but to be sure she glanced around at the other students. None of which seemed to have moved in the last hour which, in retrospect, was absolutely amazing considering Cassidy had trouble sitting still for ten minutes. Sure of her previous assumptions, she waited a moment to see how long this guy was planning on pretending to be looking the other direction. While laughing quietly to herself and watching him stand there, she realized that she recognized that hair from somewhere. After realizing this, she cursed herself, now she would have to find out where she knew him from otherwise it would bother her all day.
“Hey.” she half-yelled, half-whispered, or at least, that is what she was trying to do. It came out as a muffled yell and she glanced around at the other students some of which were giving her dirty looks right about now. She dismissed them however, because she was in the middle of something and really did not feel like getting in a fight over how loud she was. It would be a waste of her bickering skills. After a moment, it seemed that Cassidy had not gotten the guy's attention, either that or he was ignoring her in the hopes she was not talking to him. Either way, she was not one for going unheard. She grabbed one of her pens, with the cap on of course, and threw it in his direction, hitting him in the back. As soon as it did though, she realized that she had not thought of what she was going to say to him yet. Bloody Hell...

Arthur stood there not realy sure what to do with himself he had never tried to hide from somebody in plain sight before and he knew it was working as he was fairly sure she was calling for him, he decided it would be best to just ignore it and pretend he hadn't heard as obviously she was going to moan at him for watching her like some weirdo stalker which he wasnt he had just been wondering if he could sit down next to her and she'd noticed him looking.
He was standing there with his books under his arm and he was just looking at the wall in front of him untill something hit him off the back of the head. "Hey!" he said rubbing it then noticed everyone looking at him, he then whispered at them "Sorry.. something hit me" which they just ignored and went back to reading there books. Looking down he picked up the pen then looked at the girl who had thrown it, he'd decided it was about time he confronted her as he was going to get moaned at now and couldnt escape as she had clearly seen him well enough to throw a pen at him and hit. ( hey, soul sister ) ( ain't that mister mister on the radio, stereo ) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -“You know you are not exactly the best hide and seek player I've ever encountered” she said while making some type of odd gesture which is hard to explain but most likely meant she was offering him a seat. As she waited for him to have a seat, she recalled her manners, “Sorry about the pen, but I'm about ninety-nine percent sure you heard me call you and since you didn't respond, I had to get your attention.” she added rather nonchalantly as a playful smirk found its way onto her face. She was about to chastise him for staring but decided against it. He seemed like a more introverted kind of guy and she didn't want to scare him off.
“Oh, I'm Cassidy by the way. Cassidy Newbury.” she added with a smile. Cassidy had always been one to remember faces quite well. It's one of the things she was proud of and she never had that awkward feeling you get when someone else recognized you but you have no idea who they are. Actually, she was usually the one who gave others that feeling. As she looked over at him she finally recalled where she'd seen him before. He was on the hufflepuff quidditch team. “You're a Dalton, right? On the quidditch team?” she asked before shutting up and letting him speak.

"Yeah.. sorry about that" he said blushing slightly feeling like a fool but at least he knew he could sit down now, which is exactly what he did, looking across at her he smiled hoping she wouldnt moan at him if he possibly looked nice enough. "Yeah i was hoping you would kind of give up and turn away because i thought you thought i was a weird stalker or something" he confessed scratching the back of his head hoping she would just understand the misunderstanding.
"Im Arthur Dalton" he said nodding that he was in fact a Dalton and then he added "And yeah im the hufflepuff seeker" he smiled he was finally getting recognised by people, it was about time he made some sort of impact at hogwarts. "Its nice to meet you Cassidy" he said with a smile. Show her that your not that shy. Wearing: Outfit Comment: *shrug* Moo. Lyrics: Fancy Footwork - Chromeo Credit: Me

( hey, soul sister ) ( ain't that mister mister on the radio, stereo ) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - She laughed slightly as he confessed to hiding. “I suppose I could understand that.” she replied. “I was going to fuss at you for staring, but, I was hoping for a distraction from my work and your staring provided me with just that. So, thanks, I guess.”Cassidy added. She laughed again although this time she was interrupted by some first-year shushing her. She turned to confront the kid but decided that probably wasn't the best idea, considering this kid was at least four years younger than her and she did not want to seem like a bully.
She turned back to the guy just in time to hear his name. “How many other Daltons are there? Someone told me like eight but that seems like so many. You guys were home-schooled or something before Hogwarts, right? God, I can't imagine having to learn in my house. Did you guys have like 'educational field trips' and the like? How do you like Hogwarts?” After a moment of not hearing him say anything she realized that she had not given him time to speak. Maybe it was because he was new and he seemed nice enough, but her talking like this was extremely odd because Cassidy was never this chatty with new people. Ever.
“Hm..Arthur the seeker, huh? I suppose you think you're hot stuff?” she replied jokingly, although there was a hint of jealousy in there. Cassidy had terrible balance, I mean terrible. If she were to take one of those tests where you walk in a straight line, she would fall over. So, obviously, bike riding, skating, and flying were all things she had quite a bit of trouble doing. At this point, she was still taking remedial flying lessons after her normal classes were over.

Arthur smiled then nodded "Well obviously i knew that and i was just doing the entire hide from you thing to entertain you" he lied obviously but he was just lying to be jokey anyway so it didn't matter how obvious it was he was lying. He was actually glad she wasnt going to have a go at him, it was a huge relief as he'd feel guilty for days afterwards.
"Eight sounds about right" there could have been more or less, he forgot and had to count them all in his head every time someone asked it was stupid, he should have known stuff like that off the top of his head but he just didnt and it confused him. "No it was mainly at home" he said honestly he didnt realy get out much then he smiled "Hogwarts is amazing" he said simply, it was a beautiful place and he loved the people there as well, well it was nice to get a break away from family.
"not to sound big headed but have you seen me, it doesn't get hotter then this" he joked, he was hardly hot, cute maybe but hot. No. He got cute a lot actually but cute was like someones little brother or a pet or a baby not someone you'd want to date but he was ok with that he wasn't sure if he was ready for a relationship anyway. ( hey, soul sister ) ( ain't that mister mister on the radio, stereo ) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - “I suppose that means you are both psychic and sweet.” she replied giggling at the blatant lie. “I must say that's pretty awesome.” When she had first found out she was a witch she had thought that things like psychic powers were things she would be able to learn. Much to her chagrin, the way the muggle world portrays witches and wizards, and ghosts and other 'mythical creatures' is often far from the truth.
“I can't imagine having that many kids in my family. It must be pretty cool.” she replied, choosing to ignore the uncertainty of his answer. She had always wanted an older sibling, if only to make things interesting around the house and such. Of course, most of the people she had met with siblings said she was lucky. But being an only child could definitely be lonely sometimes. “It is great isn't?” she said in relaton to Hogwarts. “I like it so much. I've even thought about teaching here when I graduate and want to settle down and all that good stuff. Although that's definitely not what I plan on doing right after I graduate.” Cassidy was not the kind of person to sit still for too long, so she had planned a sort of tour around the world for herself after she graduated.
“I'd have to disagree with you there.” she replied playfully.“I'm as hot as it gets around here.” Of course she wasn't serious. She was sure that she was not the prettiest girl around hogwarts. But she could certainly make up for it with wit, confidence and personality.

"well im sweet, but sadly being physic isnt a skill i have, well not yet anyway but im working on it" he said then stared into her eyes like he was looking for something in them, then waited a second before saying "Nope i got nothing".
"It is, although like half of them are my cousins they all feel like brothers and sisters to me, were all very close" he said but he was glad to get a break, there was only so much time you could spend with people you love before you started to get annoyed and needed a little space. "Cool, so what do you want to do as soon as you graduate?" he asked curiously, he'd probably get a small time job and spend most of his time having fun then he'd follow his Quidditch career idea possibly.
"well at first i mistook you for a veela so.. but i come a close second" he joked with a wink, he had to admit he liked the girl even if she had thrown a pen at the back of his head, it was funny how things could change within seconds. ( hey, soul sister ) ( ain't that mister mister on the radio, stereo ) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - She tried to stop laughing as he tried to read her mind but found it a lot harder than she had thought. “ Okay, let me try now.” she said before composing herself and gazing back into his eyes. “Fail.” she muttered, a little too loudly after a few moments as she disappointedly dropped her gaze. She glanced around again to make sure she hadn't interrupted any other kids, she knew some people were a little touchy about their study time being quiet. Luckily this time she hadn't.
She nodded as he explained that some of the Daltons were cousins rather than siblings. It made more sense to her. She couldn't possibly imagine anyone having eight kids and not going insane. After he asked her about her plans after Hogwarts she hesitated. A lot of times she felt kind of silly explaining it to other people. She was not sure why. “Um.. I'm gonna travel the world. You know, go to a country, get a job find a place to stay, live there for a couple months, see some sites, meet some people, and then move on to the next one.”she replied as she doodled on the front of her notebook with her pen. “I've always wanted to go around the world since I was little and it seems like that would be the perfect time.” she shrugged.
Cassidy laughed, “Oh, sir!” she said jokingly, “You flatter me. I suppose if anyone of these guys around here should be second place it should be you” The idea of her being part veela was of course ridiculous. But, she was pretty glad she was not one. The ones who she had seen so far seemed self-centered and used their beauty to take advantage of the male species. But, that was only the ones she had seen so far.

It was kind of weird her staring in his eyes a part of him began to worry she'd begin to read his thoughts, not that he had any decent ones worth hiding but still it was kind of worrying. "Good i got a bit scared then" he said with a laugh but it would terrify him the thought of people who could read minds, he wouldnt know who was reading his mind or not and would get realy paranoid.
"That sounds cool, when you come back here make sure you come find me, i'll want to hear some of the things you've gotten up to" he found foreign places so amazing but unlike some of his family he couldn't speak another language and he wasnt realy interested in moving away, he liked where he was and he wasnt going to move away from it.
"why thank you" he said with a smile, he knew they were both joking though, Arthur was hardly the best looking guy and she was hardly the best looking girl but Arthur didn't realy go for looks, he went for personality, it just meant more to him. ( hey, soul sister ) ( ain't that mister mister on the radio, stereo ) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - “Really, are you hiding something?” she joked. Of course she knew that having someone stare into your eyes normally is uncomfortable so having them stare into your eyes attempting to read your mind was obviously even more creepy.
“I'll be sure to do that.” she replied with a smile. Although in her head she questioned whether or not the two of them would even remember this conversation four or five years from now. Of course, there was always a chance but those chances were definitely slim. “What are your plans after you graduate?” she asked. She couldn't really tell if he was the roaming kind of guy or one who would want to settle down right out the gate. Either way she supposed it would be interesting.
“Yeah, no problem” Cassidy giggled, only to be shushed once again by another disgruntled library-goer. Jeez, what's wrong with these people?” “she asked rhetorically, raising her voice a bit more so as to be heard by the students around them. “Can't they see we're trying to have a conversation here.” Sadly, Cassidy could become a bit obnoxious when fussed at. Especially by people younger than her. She laughed, “Next time, you should pick a better spot to distract me from my work.” she added with a slight smirk.

"Yes and if i told you, i would have to kill you" he said with a smile like a spy in some spy film, kind of like James Bond. Arthur realy didnt have anything to hide, if someone asked him a question he wouldnt be all secretive and he'd just tell them whatever it was they would want to hear... or not want to hear as the case might be.
Arthur probably wouldnt even remember this conversation when they graduated but he'd try and keep in touch with her so maybe he would. "Im not sure, possibly go after a Quidditch Career, or just have some fun for a while" he said with a shrug, he kind of just went with the flow, he hadnt got a plan for the future he was just planning to see where his life lead him, for all he knew he could be dead before he graduated, he hoped not but it was a possibility.
Arthur would never have spoken to the people around them like Cassidy did, for that he admired her.. he just didnt have the gutts to do it. "Yeah, maybe i'll wait untill your in the middle of a lesson or something next time" he joked, that would probably be a worst time but oh well he wasnt being serious. Show her that your not that shy. ( hey, soul sister ) ( ain't that mister mister on the radio, stereo ) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - “Oh, well then.” she said with an air of mock surprise. “I suppose the phrase 'Curiosity killed the Cat' applies to witches too.” she giggled. She didn't think he was hiding anything. But, if he was she would not be able to tell. Cassidy had always had trouble sorting out when people lied to her. Mostly, because she wanted to believe that people she trusted and hung out with would not do something like that to her.
“Ah..Quidditch.” she said with a smile as he explained that his the main thing he had thought of doing after Hogwarts. “I suppose you are good enough to get onto a team and all that.” she added after a moment of thought. As he added the just have fun part, he confirmed her thoughts that he was go-wit-the flow kind of person. Which always a good kind of person to have around. Less conflict than, say, stubborn, opinionated people. Like herself. Of course, it was always good to have someone like her around too, she thought. She would not let anyone step all over her or take advantage of her usually nice disposition.
After her outburst, Cassidy noticed that, just for a second, there was a look of either shock or awe on Arthur's face. It was only there for a second but it could mean one of two things; one, he was embarrassed at her for doing something so obnoxious or he was surprised and impressed at it. Either way she had already done it and look was gone so fast, she had no time to address it. “Well, that would be wonderful.” she replied as he suggested coming to one of her classes. “I mean, most of the time I wouldn't be paying attention anyways” she added more to herself than him. Cassidy was one of those people who could hear almost any concept and get it right there and then. No need for explanations and practice and all that. So obviously she had trouble being attentive in class, but as long as she got the grade, no one could really reprimand her.
