as you wander through this troubled world in search
OF ALL THINGS BEAUTIFUL, YOU
CAN CLOSE YOUR EYES WHEN YOU'RE MILES AWAY AND HEAR MY VOICE

she added, biting her lip a little. She honestly needed to pull her head out of the clouds.SCARLETT loved everything about Hogsmede. Especially in the winter, when there was snow on the cobbles, and all the people, bustling about, debating what to get their family for Christmas. And then there was all the excited kids, especially when you visit honeydukes, and they're all there, eyes wide, taking in all the candies. Although it wasn't funny when you had to try and peel them away so that you could actually get there and pick something out that you were going to buy. Scarlett had decided that she was going to stay at Hogwarts this Christmas for the simple reason that she'd not done it for the past three years, and she was starting to forget what the Christmas decorations were like. Though she couldn't understand why, because the teachers went all out when Christmas time rolled around. But it just didn't feel the same this year, like the absence of Mrs Malfoy was looming over the castle, making you remember how it used to be when she was headmistress. The daughters of her must feel terrible, knowing that their mother wouldn't be there for Christmas. Maybe she should write to them, with her Christmas greetings. No, that probably wouldn't go down well, they didn't know her very well. And she'd never sent them a letter in her life. Draco Malfoy would absolutely adore getting a random note from a stranger to remind them that, hey, they're missing someone. Yeah, not the best idea Scar had had in her lifetime.
ALTHOUGH it wasn't like she was full of bright ideas. Speaking of ideas, she still didn't have any for the essay she was meant to write for history of magic. Her dad loved history, and he'd practically badgered her into taking it so that she could pass the knowledge on to him whenever she ended up at home. He was always asking questions, and couldn't get enough of the history of magic, which was great, if Scar was really interested. She was a bit more enthusiastic about muggle history, particularly legends, which she often asked her dad to tell her. They could sit their for hours, her saying stories about goblins and telling him all about the dragon that supposedly lived in Gringotts, and he'd tell her Greek myths, and then explain to her the meaning of the names, telling her that every name had a meaning. She could recall asking her dad when she was younger what her name meant. Her first name meant red. That was pretty obvious, but Anne meant 'favored grace' and she found that intriguing. Her father told her that she was named after Henry VIII's second wife. When Scarlett was fourteen, she asked him why her dad named her after a suspected adulterer and witch, to which her father replied that he knew she was going to be special from the very first time he held her. And she wasn't an adulterer, she was just trying to give her husband the child that she wanted. She was the embodiment of how far someone would go, to give England an heir. That's what he said, anyway. Scarlett's dad liked history. A lot.
SCARLETT opened the door to the three broomsticks, her bag of sweets in one of her pockets and her homework in her hands, and she found one of the only empty tables available. Or so she thought. She was barely looking, just lost in thought. She'd not done her dream diary yet, and although she should have wrote it when she got up, so she didn't forget, she had forgotten, after being too fixated about getting ready to go down to Hogsmede. It seemed that a bunch of other students had the same idea as she did. That was good though, it kept the atmosphere in the Three Broomsticks at a nice, cheerful one. It would be a sad day if everyone was almost dead silent and not even excited about Christmas. It was so close now that the feeling was in the air! She just couldn't wait to wake up and get to open the presents! It was always fascinating to see what you got. Of course, she prayed every year that she didn't see someone buying her something, because that would just ruin the surprise. And as a Seer, it was ten times more likely to happen. She put her homework down and absent-mindedly pulled out her sweets, taking a lollipop from the bag and opening it. It was then that she got the feeling that she was being watched, so she looked up, mid unwrapping, to see someone else sitting at her table. Whoops. "Whoa. Sorry, I really should start looking where I'm going. I'm Scarlett. I'll move if you want me to."
