- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -* i don't care what the people may say , - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Although it had taken an ample amount of time to sort this whole thing out, it was finally done, and he'd successfully chosen a bride, and arranged the marriage of his eldest son, Arthur Dalton, and he couldn't be more pleased. Arthur, although he'd taken Clifford's name, was quite unlike him, and he thought that was a shame. He would have liked to have a son that he'd had a lot in common with, but a son was better than none, and he was blessed with many children. The Dalton family was by no means small, and neither was their influence. The power that came with carrying that name was amazing, as the Dalton adults had wormed their way into the most important people's friendship circles, and they were unstoppable. Proof of this lay with the body of that Cooper boy, who thought he could worm his way in by using Evelyn, without suffering any repercussions. Of course, as soon as Maria and Clifford had found out what was going on they made the arrangements to have it stopped, and now that boy would never touch their daughter again. Every trace of him was gone, and he'd never interfere with the plans that Maria and Clifford had.
Joshua had successfully been married off to Jaslene, and although it wasn't in the manner that the other Dalton's had planned, at least he was married to the girl of their choice, and that was what he was about to do for Arthur. He'd called for his son to come to the drawing room at twelve pm, and he'd also sent a summons letter to Alexandra Corrinthos, so that they both may be there when he announced the good news. He'd told her parents firmly that he wanted to be the one to announce it, and that had been agreed. Alexandra's parents had been good friends of the Dalton's, and from what he understood, Alexandra also got on very well with Joshua, so he would be happy to welcome another close friend into the family. Clifford was sure that this girl would make the perfect wife for his son, considering her background, and her pure blood line. He grinned to himself at this good idea, as he'd been the one who suggested her. Standing up from his chair, he took a few minutes to pour himself a little glass of firewhisky. It was too early to drink too much, but there was no harm in starting the Saturday off with a kick. He sat back down in his armchair and swirled the liquid around the glass absent minded-ly, until he heard the knock of the front door. He stepped out of his study straight away and moved to the door, opening it wide.
"Well hello! Would you like to come through?"
he asked the girl, looking over his shoulder in time to catch Arthur coming down the stairs. What perfect timing! He hoped his son had no idea of what was going on, because he wanted it to be a happy surprise. And if his son didn't like it, well, Clifford would be disappointed, surely, but there was nothing Arthur could do to contest the betrothal. He was going to marry Alex, and he was going to bloody well like it. She was beautiful and pure blooded and smart, so he couldn't see what there was to complain about. He led the pair into the drawing room and gestured for them to follow him in taking a seat. "Well, I bet you're both wondering why I've asked you here today." he replied, a smug smile on his face as he was still reeling over the genius of this idea. All his, of course. Well, Maria may have said something about it, but he couldn't really remember.[/blockquote][/blockquote] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - * what the people may say about me . If i was scared, i would
And if i was pure, you know i would Arthur had just came out the library where he'd spent rather a lot of time looking for a certain book only to remember it was in his room, but the time he'd remembered it was in his room he didnt feel like reading it so he decided he' check up on some of the other Dalton's to find out what they are up to. That was the plan anyway, it didnt exactly go like that as halfway down the stairs he noticed his father and Josh's friend, Alex. "..ok.." he said knowing 'would you like to come through?' wasnt a question, more of a command. Arthur had a bad feeling he knew what was going on, he didnt like it one bit.
Arthur decided though for the slight chance that it wasnt what he thought it was, he was just going to play dumb and act like he had no clue what was going on, maybe he just wanted Arthur to get something from his room.. that happened to actually belong to Alex. Ok that was super far fetched but he could hope, right? "Dad.. where are you going with this?" he asked making sure to get some sort of eye contact in some sort of attempt to make his father not say the words he could feel coming up, he just wasnt ready for marriage yet, he didnt want to marry anyone. He liked his life the way it was.. ok some things could be improved but he didnt think a wife would do that. And if i was yours, but im not Now I'm ready to start Wearing: Outfit Comment: Arthur will not be impressed, and sorry it's small :/ Lyrics: Ready to Start - Arcade Fire Credit: Me

{ THERE'S AN EMPTINESS INSIDE OF HER } and she'd do anything to fill it in .
{ BUT ALL THE COLORS MIX TOGETHER TO GREY } and it breaks her heart .

Curiousity was getting the best of her as she rushed up to the door of the Dalton Estate. She had no clue what was coming next, or why she had been invited there. She knew Josh wasn't around, but it wasn't even one of the Dalton kids that invited her. It was Clifford Dalton, which was odd because she didn't know him as well as Andrew and Priscilla. Her parents were close to all of them, but because she was best friends with Josh, she spent the most time with that part of the household. She even hung around Beth sometimes, even though they had their spats. But that's going to happen if you're around her. She was a.... well, she was interesting.
When she reached the door, she waited. She didn't want to rush anymore. Now that she was there, she was actually kind of nervous. There were an endless amount of things she could be here for. Of course, there was one thing she dreaded the most out of that endless list. Marriage. The Daltons had a reputation of putting their children in arranged marriages. Joshua had been set up with Jaslene, which was good though, because they ended up falling for eachother. Bethany was set up with Byron Nott, but that was changed by Isabella. Either way, that arranged marriage is most likely not going to blow over well. Especially because all of Isabella's siblings and cousins hate him for accepting her instead.
But, who knew. Maybe it wasn't marriage. That would be silly right? Anyway, she might as well stop thinking about the one thing she didn't want to happen, and actually let it play out. It would be stupid to make herself sick before she even knew what was going on. Her hand raised and she rung the doorbell of the Estate. She didn't have to wait long before Clifford opened the door. He looked so happy. It was weird. She in return smiled at him. "Hello Mr. Dalton." She greeted, walking in as he had asked. "It's a pleasure to..." Her head turned to see Arthur coming down the stairs and her tone lost some of her excitment. "See you again." She finished her sentence. Oh she did hope he was just coming down to get some cookies or something, but that was not the case.
Alexandra followed Clifford and his son cautiously into the drawing room and took a seat as he wished. Her eyes searched Cliffords face for some reassurance this was not what she thought it was, but she could not find any. If this was an arranged marriage, her parents would have to know. Why didn't they say anything to her? Wouldn't they have told her? She didn't say anything. Instead she just listened and waited for the news.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -* i don't care what the people may say , - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Clifford Dalton had a good few reasons to be happy. The first, was that he was happily married, there abouts, to his beautiful and smart wife, Maria. They had their ups and downs, just like any other couple, but they didn't let that stop them, and they had a lot in common. Secondly, he had children to carry on the Dalton name. This was a blessing, because otherwise, his brother probably would have been smug and called Clifford a failure, because he'd not carried on the name himself. Thirdly, news had reached Clifford that his eldest son, Arthur Dalton, had joined the ranks of the Stygian Votaries, which was Styx' very own driving force within Hogwarts. This was a proud thing, because it meant that he was well on his way to being the child that Clifford and Maria wanted him to be. He was unsure, a few months ago that his son would become the man that he was destined to be, and Clifford had tried to push him in the right direction, and it seemed to be working. There was one more thing that he was happy about, although the way that it was achieved didn't exactly go to plan. Evelyn wasn't meant to find the body, and Styx and that wild haired woman had messed up on that fact. Of course there had been hell to pay for that, and Clifford and Maria had to pretend to be the grieving parents, who didn’t understand who the boy was, but cared for the fact that he was dead anyway. If the body had been hidden, they’d been all ready to spin a story that he’d come to the house when Evie was out and said he was leaving, and to tell Evie a few things that would make her upset, of course, but it was for her own good.
It was a good job that as Dalton’s, they were good at thinking on their feet and they managed to get rid of the body and say it was sent to his parents to bury. He knew that his daughter wasn't too happy about it, as she went out for work, and then came back to walk around in her pyjamas like a zombie. That was if she left her room, because she spent a lot of time in there too. She needed to pull it together. You see, Clifford had a hand in organising the death of one boy, because he'd gotten too close to his daughter. Clifford had been tipped off about their secret dating, and after they confirmed the rumour, they knew that something had to be done. He wasn't even sure of the boy's background, and for all he knew, the boy could have been a mudblood! How disgraceful! Of course after he'd been told that he was a pure blood boy, but Clifford didn't care. He was gone, and there was nothing he could do now to take Clifford's daughter away. Next on the marriage list was Evie and Clifford was sure that Maria had been making mental lists of eligible boys to marry her off to. That's not a bad thing though because it would be good to explore other options. His daughter would do better than a silly shelf stacker. It was just a silly crush anyway, and surely his innocent daughter would wise up and realise that it wasn't the end of the world. She was a Dalton, and she could do so much better for herself, and she'd have to realise that if she wanted to keep living under this roof.
Clifford took a sip of his fire whisky and smiled as his son spoke. He hadn’t smiled this many times in ages, so that was a clear sign that there was a plan in motion, and so far it was going well. She was on time, he was on time and it seemed that the girl didn’t know the reason why she was here either. ”Son, your mother and I have agreed that it’s time to get you on the path to settling down.” he spoke, pausing. ”I’ve brought you both here to inform you of an agreement between myself and my wife, and your parents, Miss Corrinthos.”
he started to explain, looking for a moment at the girl and then meeting his son’s eyes. ”I asked your parents not to ruin the happy surprise, Miss Corrinthos and they were good enough to oblige. You are to be married, congratulations!” he finished his slightly drawn out explanation with a smile. Now he thought about it, ‘down the aisle’ seemed an appropriate answer to his son’s comment. If i was scared, i would
And if i was pure, you know i would Arthur sat there waiting for his farther to speak, it felt like an hour before Clifford actually did speak although it probably had only been a few seconds. As soon as he started to speak Arthur realised this was happening, it was what he didnt want to happen and he was dreading his own future. Arthur sat their listening, he knew he'd had this coming for a long time. Arthur clenched his hands into fists and stood up when his farther was finished talking, he was angry and annoyed at his farther but he knew shouting couldnt get him anywhere he was stuck in this situation weather he liked it or not.
"You know.. for someone so full of yourself, your such an idiot" he said to his farther, trying to keep a calm tone. "look at you, so happy with yourself, sipping away at your firewhiskey" Arthur said smacking the fire whisky out of his father's hands and letting the glass hit the floor. He then made sure to look right into the eyes of his farther "But who's gonna be there, when your old and grey and your on your deathbed, who's gonna give a crap about you? huh? not me. As far as im concerned your not my farther, so.. Clifford, You can force me into a marriage, but you cant force me into a family." Arthur then stood there glaring into the eyes of Clifford, Arthur had done pretty much all he could to try and make an impact but he knew it probably wouldnt be enough. And if i was yours, but im not Now I'm ready to start Wearing: Outfit Comment: Arthur is not impressed, and sorry it's small :/ Lyrics: Ready to Start - Arcade Fire Credit: Me

{ THERE'S AN EMPTINESS INSIDE OF HER } and she'd do anything to fill it in .
{ BUT ALL THE COLORS MIX TOGETHER TO GREY } and it breaks her heart .

Her suspicions were correct. This was the beginning of an arranged marriage, between herself and Arthur Dalton, son of Clifford Dalton. This was not what Alexandra wanted for her life, and she knew it wasn’t what Arthur wanted either. She couldn’t believe her parents would keep this from her. In fact she couldn’t believe they would even make her go through it. She loved Arthur. He was a good friend of hers. Well, they weren’t best friends, but they have known each other since they were little. She hung around Josh the most, but she did see the others at times. Still, that didn’t mean she wanted to marry any of them. Even Josh. He was her best friend and she couldn’t think of him romantically at all. That was just gross.
Alex was pulled out of her thoughts when she heard Arthur yelling at his father. Her eyes were widened slightly. She was not expecting that reaction. She never pictured Arthur as the aggressive type and when he knocked the glass out of Clifford’s hand she jumped slightly. This was not going to go down well at all. Every time she was around Arthur, he was so quiet or sweet. He was never angry or aggressive. Seeing him like this actually made her upset. Not enough to cry or anything like that, but enough to make her worried about him. What he just did was probably all the anger he bottled up coming out.
“Arthur…” She said softly, standing up from the couch now. She was unsure how he would act toward her, now that he was angry. She didn’t want him to snap at her, or lash out at her for no reason. Well there was a reason, but nothing she had control over. “Please calm down.” She lightly placed a hand on his shoulder and then looked at Clifford, anger shown in her eyes. She did know everything he had done. To Evie, to Sam, to Izzy and Josh. Sure, Josh wasn’t close to Sam, but he had to deal with it all. She wasn’t too pleased about it, and she wasn’t going to show any hate toward him. There was no reason for it at this moment, but she was not happy about what he was doing to Arthur and herself. “I mean no disrespect Mr. Dalton, but you are making a big mistake. You should not put Arthur into this marriage. He doesn’t want it, and frankly, neither do I. I know you don’t care about what I want, but you should care about your own son. Let him make his own decisions.” She knew her words were probably not going to free them from his decision of marrying them off, but she still wanted to say something about it. “Arthur is an intelligent man and I’m sure he can find a really great girl on his own.” She faced Arthur once again, searching for any hint from his facial expression that he was okay.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -* i don't care what the people may say , - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Clifford, if you wanted to use this word, was what you could call quite volatile. Now, volatile had three working meanings, that he knew of, and all three seemed to apply to him. Meaning one, was that he was unstable and potentially dangerous. Clifford often had the temper that led him to be perfectly normal and content one moment, and the next he could give a death glare that was actually quite effective. Two, was to become suddenly violent or dangerous. Clifford hated it when things didn't go his way, or the way he expected, and he was prone to little outburst of anger where he couldn't control himself. And the third, was that he changed suddenly. No need for an explanation to that there, because the following actions of Clifford were explanatory enough, and they also were good evidence of the previous points. Anger overtook Clifford's eyes and his face grew suddenly red, as his temper overtook him. He couldn't believe that his son's words had actually been spoken. Where had this nerve come from all of a sudden? His hand flicked as Arthur hit the firewhisky out of the way, and he reached immediately forward, giving Arthur a loud, painful slap across the cheek, before his hand moved and reached automatically for his wand. It was a force of habit now and he drew it, pointing it down at his son's feet. "You will not disrespect me like that. You will not speak to me like that. Especially not in the company of your future wife"
Clifford spoke harshly, his tones low and menacing. He'd never expected this reaction, and he also put emphasis on the word 'wife' to let him know that it was happening. "You ignorant child! You think you can choose family? Don't be so pathetic. It's time you grew up, son. It doesn't matter who'll be there on my deathbed, it's who's around in your life that is important" he stated, glaring right back into the eyes of his son. That was true, you needed influential people around you, and then you'd become one and that way, you could have and do whatever the hell you damn pleased, including organising the murder of some pathetic shop boy that thought he could take Clifford's elder daughter away from him. That stupid shop boy probably didn't even know what hit him! Clifford knew that some blood families, well they were going to the dogs. But not his. No way would he let everything he'd help make for them slip away. He turned his wand to the glass, which had smashed on the floor, and with a flick of his wand and a muttered "Reparo", the cup was back to it's whole shape and he picked it up and carefully placed it on the side table, his temper cooling slightly. He turned toward his son's betrothed, and listened. "You should listen to her, boy, she has some sense" he mentioned, turning his head toward Arthur for a second, sniffing his nose slightly, and then turning back to look at Alex, although he watched Arthur out of the corner of his eye, just in case. "Please do not pretend to know what's right and what is wrong. We've talked through this, your parents included, and we agree that it is a good idea to join our families together, that's how it is, and I'm sorry if you don't like it, but it's out of your hands. “ he replied, shaking his head slightly before pausing. And I'll let him make decisions when he shows that he can make ones that are good for the family as a whole, and not just for him" he replied stiffly, knowing that all the decisions he made were for the family. He wished that his son would just realise that and move on. If i was scared, i would
And if i was pure, you know i would Arthur knew his farther would hit him, he'd been ready for it, but it still hurt. Arthur watched as his father pulled out a wand and pointed it to his feet. "Ha! I'm disrespecting you, your entire family disrespects you, nobody likes you, if you think you have any scrap of respect, it's sympathy, nobody gives a crap about you Clifford" Arthur told his farther then grabbed his father's arm and moved it so his father's wand was pointing at his head, not his feet. "Go on, if your gonna point a wand at me, blast away, I'm not scared of you" he said truthfully, he had been when he was younger but he'd reached a point in his life were he had decided enough was enough.
"You cant choose family huh? You really wanna test that out, because i'll go pack my bags. Oh and please, the second your too old to do stuff every Dalton in one of your unloving arranged marriages is gonna get a divorce.. maybe i'll go marry a muggle.. name my child Clifford after you, how about that?" he stated making the last part sound like he was actually planning his future. Arthur just stood there as his father repaired the glass and he didnt react when his father told him to listen to Alex, but there was one thing he had to react to. Arthur started chuckling as his father mentioned what is right and wrong, then the chuckle grew untill he was almost in tears. "you.. knowing what right and wrong is.." he managed to say between laughs, he then had to sit back down due to the pain in his side from laughing. "Good one Clifford" he said like it was just some joke. then he started laughing again "and you making good decisions for the family!? your cracking me up here Mr.Dalton" And if i was yours, but im not Now I'm ready to start Wearing: Outfit Comment: Arthur has possibly lost his mind...
