The Basics
an interview? is this really necessary? i have many places to be, you know. oh, you don't know? well then, welcome back into the world, you must have been a hermit until now. i'm a dalton of course, and the eldest son of priscilla and andrew, to be precise, making me a man. and i'm not just a man either, because i'm an amazing canon, making me even more special than i am already. and i'm not just an amazing canon man. i'm an amazing canon man who's interested, solely in women. i've spent eighteen years spreading my amazing personality around this earth, and i was born on the 9th of july, along with my twin sister, bethany priscilla dalton. can i go yet?
The Magic
more questions? oh come on now, you should really know all this already, i'm very well known, you know. are you really asking me that question? what is my blood status? i am a dalton, i thought it would be completely obvious that i am none other than the purest of pure bloods. well, never mind, at least you're learning things now. i learned things too, when i went to hogwarts and was sorted into the house of slytherin. yes, just like my father. i think. oh i don't know, probably. anyway. my mother was also probably a slytherin, the cunning woman that she turned out to be. anyway, i’ve not long left hogwarts and am currently working as a shelf stacker in the weasley’s shop, and in the meantime i’m training to be an auror. currently, i carry a wand that chose me when i was eleven, and it measures in at 11inches of the finest maple wood, with kelpie hair at it's core. apparently it's good at transfiguration, but that's not all it's good at. and it's also not the only thing about me that's 11inches either. can i go now?
The Appearance
how many more questions can you have? i have a wife to think about, and all your questions are really clouding up my mind. oh very well. as you can tell, i'm a very good looking guy, many say it runs in the family, but i'd like to think that i'm the best looking of the lot. i'm 5'11 although that was the last time i checked, so i may be taller, who knows. my eyes are a huge draw for women, and they're a fascinating brown colour. i say fascinating, because apparently girls love looking into them for hours. i don't get it, but hey, if it gets me girls then we'll work with that. no complaints. my hair is also brown, and quite long, but it's good that way, i like it, especially in winter, it keeps my ears warm. yeah, i know, that doesn't sound very macho, but there's many things about me that make up for it, trust me. i usually wear it down, it works better that way. anyway, i'm usually clean shaven, and i'm also usually smiling, even more so now that jaslene has come into my life. i tend to wear jeans and various tops, although i try and look smart and hot at the same time, though for me it's not that hard to do. my favourite shoes are converse, but my mother and father do encourage me to wear more dressy clothes and shoes (though i try to avoid that unless the occasion is important). i try and avoid things like dress robes (traditional ones look like dresses, and they don't suit me at all) but suits aren't that bad, though it's got to be just right for me to like it. i also try and avoid constricting clothes, another reason why i'm not constantly in robes. normal clothes are much better indeed. oh, and many people swear that i look like jim sturgess, so whoever he is, he must be one handsome git. we done?
The Personality
oh please, hurry up, ok? i like dancing, women, having a laugh, being sarcastic, the sun, converse, ray-bans, jaslene, my family (namely bethany, isabella, gareth, arthur, evie, harrison, and kelsie), slytherin, butterbeer, firewhisky, spontaneity and the colour green. i know, there's a lot there. i don't like organisation, i tend to be more spontaneous, and i don't like huge plans for the future, even if mom and dad prefer it. i'd rather just wing it, so to speak. i am a bit witty and i don't like people who take everything seriously, it's really annoying, i much prefer them to loosen up and have some fun, otherwise it just gets boring. i don't like following rules, i would much rather do what i want, and i also dislike homework. i've been described as zealous, which means that i'm enthusiastic, and whoever said that got it right. when i want something, i throw myself into it, but if i don't want it then i'll pull the other way and throw everything into opposing that. like my wedding, at first, i tried my hardest to stop it, but in the end I organised it. It‘s funny how things turn out really.. i'm good at transfiguration, defence against the dark arts is okay, and apparently i'm not bad at making people laugh either. i try my hardest to diffuse tension in awkward situations, and i also like to think i'm good at that too. i'm also exceptionally fluent in sarcasm, and in fact could be called a master at it. i'm not great at potions or charms, and i'm not good at being on time. i'm scared of spiders, don't tell anyone, that's one of my secrets, which are also what i'm good at keeping. my other secret is that my family is pretty messed up, my parents don't like to admit it though. i also dream that i'll have a great life and do what i want in it.
The Background
Seriously? Do you have an ever expanding list of questions? I do suppose that I’m quite interesting though, and how often do you get a chance to ask a Dalton such in detail and completely personal questions? Let’s start off a generation ago, when my grandmother gave birth, to my mother, Priscilla. I’m surprised she didn’t call her the devil, but apparently that part of her personality didn’t show up until later. Sometime earlier my other grandparents had brought my father and uncle into the world. Twins. Andrew and Clifford Dalton were identical twins, and always remained close although I do get the impression that they argued quite a lot, and still do on occasion, maybe over stupid things, but I could be wrong, though all siblings do argue after all. My mother and father and uncle went to Hogwarts, and as it happens, my mother and father ended up placed in an arranged marriage. My grandmother was pleased. My mother ran away. She came back of course, though it was a nice try, and it does remind me of something that Bethany would later do. Apparently though both Bethany and my mother found it difficult to be unsupported and live off a low job wage or something, so they came back. Beth waited till the last minute though. Good on her.
Anyway, so my mother and father eventually fell in love. It took a while, or so I’m led to believe, but I don’t know the details, it’s not like we’ve ever sat down and had a heart to heart, they’re not that type of parents, although they did spoil us kids. If we wanted something, we got it, and if we didn’t get it, we’d set the bed on fire until we did. Ok, maybe that was just me. And once. But hey, they brought back the wrong sweets. That’s petty, I know, but I was only young then and the littlest things annoyed me and seemed like the end of the world. I’ve changed now of course. I only set the bed on fire with Jaslene, and not in the same way either, if you know what I mean. Don’t tell Chris that, it would freak him out, probably. When my mother and father were married, my uncle was also marrying Maria, my aunt. Soon, my parents gave birth to myself and my twin sister, Bethany Dalton. After we were born, Isabella came along, and then it was Gareth. Around the same time, my aunt and uncle brought Evelyn into the world, followed by Arthur, Harrison and Kelsie, all of whom are my cousins and I care strongly about all of them.
I’m the protective type if you didn’t know already. Do not mess with my family. I will hunt you down and nail you to a wall by somewhere painful and inappropriate. Got it? No. Maybe. I’m not that mean I don’t think, but you wouldn’t get away with it. Neither will that idiotic Nott child. We were all home schooled. Tutors would come to our house to teach us everything we need to know under the sun and great lengths adwere taken to make sure that we were the purest of pure and smartest of children, and we’re all pretty brainy if I do say so myself. Well, we were all home schooled, up until a little while back. Then everything changed. We were to go to Hogwarts. Myself and Bethany had a few months in the school, whilst the rest of our family had more, although Evie took it upon herself to leave when we did. I don’t think her parents were too pleased but tough. Before I left, I found out that I was to be married to one Miss Jaslene Malfoy, and I didn’t like it at all. Of course neither did she and we both threw ourselves into opposing the marriage. I left school and tried my best to get out of it, but found myself thinking more and more about her.
I would be doing something normal and average and it would strike me how I wished she was there. Or, I’d see something or thing of something funny and immediately want her to be there so I could tell her. I didn’t understand, but I realised later that I was completely in love. I took it upon myself, after confessing that love and asking her to marry me, to organise a trip to a muggle registry office in London, and with only the closest of family and friends, I made her my wife. It was the best decision I’ve ever made, and I would never change it. Not for anything.
