don't tempt a demon Kamil wasn't really looking to do anything special, but becuase his luck seemed to suck so much he was here for a specific reason. Thingsh hadn't been swell the past even hour, besides his major problems he seemd to be wishing that break would come faster, even going home would be much more pleasant then having to deal with students, sure he was one but still. He would rather have his brother making fun of him being a girl and his rampaging father then go to a place that didn't even "like" him, and not that he would complain, he kept his opinions of Hogwarts to himself. However now that good ol' Slytherin guys had found out about even more then just him and Kaleb he was absolutely screwed. They had even found out about his middle name, okay he really didn't care if they called him that, but, it was demoting to him, the only reason he had it was because his father found it fitting for him, and now it was being used as a insult here too.
Alright he could be clumsy, not terribly, but it happens. Kamil Snyder stood with bandage between his teeth as he wrapped his arm. His shirt hung around his neck as the bruises and scars he had on his back anc chest were largly visibe in the light. He had fallen of his broom after taking a pracitce run around for while, and he had lost contronl and crashed into the dirt rolling off the broom, his arm hadh it harder then anyhting else had.
He mumbled about how stupid flying was and how he had to be more careful. He wasn't quite the master of medical magic so he was doing this manually. He didn't mind, but he winced as he dabbed his arm with acohol and tried wrapping it, but that wasn't going to well for him and he growled in frustration, he sat on one of the beds angrily still trying to fix the dang bandage.
It had been a few days sense, well, catching up with Kaleb. He didn't really feel much better, infact his entire days consiste of absolute taunting and crap things happen to him, he didn't know what to do, this was ridiculous. He sighed softly then the bandage was still inbetween his teeth as he was beginning to give up on this endeavour. If he would have just been more careful he wouldn't be here wrestling with a bandage!
He was crazy, and frustrated, he really needed to study more. He sighed looking at the ceiling, this is impossible He mumbled to himself rolling his eyes at nothing. He never felt so stupid up till now, he never knew that he would be stumped by this, of course everyone had one thing they weren't good at, but why this!

ruby jerked upright, her eyes wide and her pores sweating from a nightmare that repeated itself many times over. the nightmare wasn't long, but it was eerie. a woman sat in a chair in ruby's old blue house, and dream ruby would be afraid. she didn't know this woman, why was she in her house? dream ruby would ask who she was and the woman would start screaming, red-faced. i'm your mother! remember me? i'm still here, ruby! i'm still here! she would shout and wail. dream ruby would back up, scared and then real ruby would wake up. taking a few deep breaths, the redhead calmed her beating heart and rubbed her face with her hands. as she did this, she noticed her hands were shaking. great. starting off the morning with extremely tense muscles was wonderful. shaking her head with a sigh, the freckled girl lifted off her covers and swung her feet off of her bed. she grabbed a pair of torn jean shorts and a small red t-shirt and slipped them on quickly, shoving her hair into a ponytail. she stared at her reflection. she saw her eyes flash with recognition. she saw her mother in the mirror and sometimes ruby wondered if she'd ever escape that, even with her mother seemingly gone. pah. no, her mother would never be gone.
grabbing her favorite torn and re-patched courdoroy bag, she slung it over her shoulder and slipped her feet into flip flips. out she went, her makeup smudged from the night before. ruby, at this point, hardly cared about that. as she stepped out of the ravenclaw common room, though, she missed a step and fell head first down a few stairs. why was this house in a tower? bad planning. standing up slowly, ruby felt her head and gasped a little. okay, so she did land on it. slowly but surely, she made her way to the hospital wing down a few stories from the tower. once she entered it, though, she paused, and let her eyes drift to the ground. it was kamil, a slytherin who attempted to make her life hell. that was before she knew what hell really was. now that she did know, she knew he wasn't good at it. but on a day like this, all she wanted was to be left alone. maybe she could inch by unnoticied if she pretended she was invisible.

don't tempt a demon Okay maybe he was stressing out alittle bit, he didn't want to admit it, but he was letting htings get to him alittle bit. He had had a bad year, and it was bound to get worse with him joing the Stygian Votaries, but he had to, if he hadn't his fatherm ay have pulled him from Hogwarts all together or something horriyfing like that. Kamil didn't want to end up locked away in some room, cut off from magic, that would kill him if anything else did. Sure he hated Hogwarts with a dying passion, and yes sometimes he;d rather face home. He couldn't imagine his life without the place, there was legacy here he didn't want to forget. You love the things that do you most harm. He lived up to that saying probably. He was a complete imbecil actually, not only did he fall into the trap of the whole Kaleb ordeal, but now he didn't even truthfully know how he felt about Kaleb, he didn't want to have secound thoughts but, it was happening anyway, everyone thinks that maybe the person isn't right, there is someone better for that particular person, well Kamil was one of those people.
He heared the door open and he raised his head to see her, not just her but, Ruby. He smirked and was about to make a rude comment when he remebered how he looked. He blinked looking down at himself and mumbled. "Going to make a comment on my scars or what?" He asked smirking, he clumsily wrapped the bandage around and tied it off and hten sat there looking at her, now normally he would be off making fun of her and trying to get at her. However seeing her condition, and seeing his own and he faltered. He stayed silent waiting for her to answer, he stood up going to get bandage for her, seeing her head, and not that he was trying to be nice or anything, but he didn't want her to bleed on him either. Then he stopped mistride and sighed, the scars on his back were even worse. He hung his head then looked over his shoulder."f there was a time to make fun of me...it be now." He replied smirking, mainly at himself not at her ,because right now he looked like the lesser person. He was quite sensitive about his scars, they had been collected from years of family, the newer ones that were still quite visible were from students who found their entertainment by beating the hell out of him. He had learned to take blows, and he could certainly deal them back, but his father would become even madder if he got into a measly fist fight with some wayward kid. So he had to take anything that was dished out, no matter how much it could possibly hurt him.

organic substances exist molecules with covalent bonds holding the individual atoms together. that law of science is a lie. or maybe not. no, it has to be. two atoms of this broken hathaway family were split apart. can covalent bonds split? does it even matter? her shoulders were slumped as she thought this, and ruby took each step as if she were walking through water. everything seemed to slow down. she wanted her mom back, but she wanted her mom to stay away. there were so many things wrong, and at the end of the day, ruby wondered if she wanted too much. maybe she just wanted nothing at all. it was all too confusing, and it was all getting to her head. another footstep, and she broke through the water, her limbs now feeling feather-light. that took too long. she hated remembering, or just thinking about mom. it was as if the idea of her would conjure her out of thin air.
the voice of kamil made ruby look over. blinking icy blue eyes, her father's eyes, she stopped walking and stood like a stone statue inside and out. she shut down the emotions welling up inside her, preparing for a mocking remark. she wasn't ready to deal with this. she shouldn't have even left the dorm today after that nightmare. i'm still here echoed in her head. she tried pushing the screams away. it was only when she heard what kamil said that she scrunched her nose up in confusion. ruby shook her head. no, she was not going to make fun of his scars. that would be cruel. she watched in silence as he got to his feet and began walking toward the cabinet, pausing in his stride. he said something again, as if provoking her to make fun of him. even after all the years he mocked her, she couldn't bring herself to do it. scars weren't something that was funny. if he tripped, that would be funny. but not scars, especially not those. "how'd you get them?" she asked, blinking her blue eyes again, ignoring kamil's remarks.

don't tempt a demon There was plenty things that could wrong, but perhaps he was worrying to much wasn't he? Okay sure he hated everything, including his family for the most part. However he needed to focus on "happy' things, if there was such a thing in his life. He couldn't say he had the worst life, he admitted others probably had it worse off then him so he could except that with stressing out to much. Infact now that he thought about it that little Daulton he had met, she did have it bad, she hardly knew what right and wrong was according to herself and not her family. He felt bad becuase her opinions were formulated by family. Kamil use to be like that, only thinking his own family was correct and there was no way they were wrong.
He saw the hesitation in her eyes and he smirked, he looked through all the medical items and pulled out bandages, he came up to her keeping a fiar distance because he didn't want to seem all to nice about it. Then came the question, he didn't expect it, he thought he get a remark or something from the Crow but he didn't he sighed rolling out the bangage and moving her hand from her head. "My father, the students, alot of things." He answered taking the bandage and wiping the access blood from her forehead and finding it eaiser to bandage someone else then himself. "So whats your problem today Crow girl? You seem to be out of sorts." He asked, not all to nicely, but he kept the meaness to a minimum and decided to let her be, because hey she kinda was nice to him about his scars, so he wouldn't be mean, for now.

ruby blinked a few times, keeping her mouth shut in silence as kamil plucked bandages from the cabinet and sauntered over to her, moving her hand out of the way and proceeding to aid in cleaning up the wound. she was sort of stunned, but she wasn't going to say anything. she stood still in hopes that it would make the job easier. she listened to his words, icy blue eyes carefully blank. his father? well that wasn't .. good. as for the students, well one might've guessed. some of the kids here at hogwarts weren't exactly good hearted. in fact, ruby herself would go as far as to say some were the opposite. but that was a different train of thought for a different time. nitpicking other students was kind of mean anyway, and at the moment ruby couldn't bring herself to use the little bit of energy she had to simply be mean. when he asked what her problem was, she opened her mouth to speak, and then closed it. how was she going to say this? she repeated the process again before letting out a long sigh. "had a nightmare." she replied shortly, shrugging lightly without moving her head. she almost snorted at the name, crow girl, but kept that amusement to herself. "i got the cut from tripping, though." she added, pointing to it. "stupid stairs always get me." she added, hoping to lighten the mood. she didn't want to dwell on her mother's disappearance. she could do that later. she planned to visit the old blue house. letting her gaze drop, she slid her bracelet down into view, and jangled the key in her hand almsot subconciously. yeah, she'd visit.
OOC- sorry it's so short! i'm in a hurry! xD

don't tempt a demon He didn't know why he was being nice to her, maybe it was a good day, or welll more like maybe it was just one of those days were he felt like maybe being himself, just around one single person, it wasn't like he liked the girl, but he could altleast try to give her some grace after all she didn't seem to be all that good herself. He finshed tying the bandage and smirked when she said she had a nightmare, he himself had a had a few, that scared the heck out of him, not that he'd admit to anyone of course, but he frowned. "Of what.." He realized he had sounded sympathetic and smacked a hand over his mouth, then he sighed dropping the hand, to late. He laughed at the stair thing. 'I would have sworn crows could fly." He commented smiling at her half smirking. He heared the key before he saw it, he looked down at her hand. "Planning on going somewhere Rub- crow' He changed saying he name, he wasn't going to be that nice and blow his cover even more then he already had, but he might as well be nosy and ask why she had a key. Maybe i had something to do with her nightmare, or maybe she was planning on running away. Or both. He shpuldn't be getting into this, but now he wanted to know sense she had come in on his time , he would happily waste her time as well. He might even go with her, wait, now, he wouldn't why was he thinking that, he couldn't be caught with a crow, was he nuts or just like, maybe he hit his head too.

ruby blinked and lifted a hand to her bandage when kamil finished tying it up. it felt solid. stifling a small grin, she kept her face impassive as she nodded. "thanks." she said in a rather guarded tone, not really too trusting at the moment. in her mind, she felt a small twinge of resentment. now she owed him. shaking the thought away, she shrugged when he asked what the nightmare was about. "someone i used to know." she replied vaguely, feelign ehr handle tremble a little bit. the words 'i'm still here' echoed even further in her head and she was too busy looking down and blinking furiously to notice kamil slap a hand over his mouth. when she looked up again, he was smirking, and she couldn't help a small twisted grin back. "you'd think." ruby replied, letting out a tiny chuckle. but when kamil looked down, ruby realized her key was visible and yes, jangling. she tended to shake it around so much that she didn't notice she was doing it now.
looking at the small silver key, she took it how old it was, the metal sort of aged and brassy in looks. like her house. it was a pretty light blue, but teh sun had dulled the tone over the years, and brassed the once-beautiful color. the shutters were crooked or torn down. the door was painted an ugly shade of red, something that didn't match the house one bit. the shrubs had been alive and trimmed, but they were probably dead by now. ruby had been taken away from it by those stupid muggles six months ago, and that would be enough time for a plant, uncared, to die. the lawn would be an ugly shade of straw as well. after a moment of gazing at the key, ruby wondered if she really wanted to see the house. letting out a sigh, she decided that she did. maybe her mother would have come back. looking back up, her blue eyes were carefully masked with a fake cheeriness. "yeah, a friend's house. i need to pick something up for her since she is busy." she lied through her teeth, though the lie was a good one. so she thought anyway.

don't tempt a demon He smirked and shuffled his feet slightly at her cold thanks. "Well i didn't want you bleeding on me." He commented crossing his arms sounding harsh, but his eyes betrayed his voice. He blinked at her description of her dream and tilted his head to the side making a confused face his lips pulling up into a another smirk. "Someone you use to know? a guy maybe?' He probed wondering what could possibly be bothering her so much. she made a comment that was slightly humorous and he chuckled. "You going to have to have someone teach you then." He mocked her slightly. He slipped his unbandaged arm into a shirt sleeve and winced as his other arm jerked. He sighed wondering if he should leave.
He noticed the detail and yet pretty color of the key, if he had to say it hadto be old slilver or copper, something with value, he noticed how she said about her friend and he was trying to see if it was a lie, but she did it so well he could not tell. "If that was the case, then you wouldn't look like youd seen a ghost." He commented tapping her forehead lightly, he made a face then somehow slipped his injured arm into its sleeve and then stood there wondering why he was still talking to this ravenclaw, but hey it was quite more convient then anything else he had planned to do today. He even thought he might accomapny her, which sounded absurd the more he thought it over, but seeing as she looked a bit more liek she couldn't walk anywhere anyway."Do...I..I should come with you, seeing as you can't walk without smacking or falling into something" He changed it into more of a insult then a word of concern and help, but any human being could see he was being nice, dispite his efforts not to be.

ruby offered up a small yet twisted smirk and nodded her head slowly. "i'm sure." she replied to kamil's scoff about her bleeding on him. with a small shake of her head, she put off a laugh, though the shaking of her head slowed when he spoke again. "no." she said softly, shrugging. "just some woman." she added, reassuring herself that she wasn't lying. she was telling the truth, just not the whole truth. the truth was something that ruby didn't want to go around, especially not now. she'd keep that to herself. it was the only thing of her own that she had. a secret. when kamil chuckled and continued speaking, she forced a small grin. "yeah, perhaps a wise seventh year." she crowed, imitating a pondering look. letting the face melt away, she gave a small chuckle of her own before widening her eyes.
he wasn't stupid, apparently. that, or ruby was just doing a bad job at hiding her unease. "i do not!" she protested half-heartedly, folding her arms lightly over her chest. okay, well maye she did. but she wasn't going to admit that. nibbling on her lower lip, she looked down at her feet. kamil's next comment surprised her even more. what? her icy blue gaze shot up, and she reguarded the slytherin carefully. the offer was genuine. with that established, ruby now had to wonder if it was a good idea to bring someone there. what if mom was back? that wouldn't exactly end well. nibbling more furiously on her bottom lip, ruby thought hard. well, she could make him wait on the sidewalk. that way, if mom was in the house, he'd never know. unless she started yelling. no, the windows would all be shut. she doubted he'd hear that. lifting a hand up to rub the tip of her nose, ruby let out a long breath. "i could go myself. but fine." she muttered the agreement, telling herself that just because he was coming doesn't mean she truly couldn't have gone herself. she could. she'd never need to rely on anyone again- look where it got her the first time.

don't tempt a demon He chuckled and shrugged lightly. He noticed her change in mood and blinked a few times. a woman, sounds, suspicous He thought to himself. "is this..women related to you?" He asked wondering if he could hit the nail on the head with that one question. He noticed her comment with the smirk and he crossed his arms again. If she meant him, then this could get even more interesting, on both their parts."Are you implying something?" He asked with a bit of nicer voice then before, he wondered what she meant and he hoped she would tell him, because this was getting mildy interesting.
Kamil rolled his eyes. "Suuuuure." He replied running his fingers through his hair and making a face at her, she just blew her compsure there, and it made him laugh. He tilted his head and looked at her with another smile as her face seemed to fill with surprise at his suggestion. " I mean, its going to be a burden, but i don't mind coming, just to make sure I don't have to tend to you again." He said shrugging and ignoring her exaperated voice, because she had now peaked his interest and that was always a weakness of his, and now he wouldn't give up till he knew what was going on, after all he was the biggest gossip in Slytherin, other then Bethany Dalton, he'd giver her credit for that, she was good, damn good. Which was why he didn't like her much besides her threats she was just annoying. Besides this dilemma Kamil found he had nothing better to do with his time, so might as well elnd one favor to this girl or well two now.

ruby felt her muscles tense up when the word 'related' popped into the conversation. "no! she's not!" she protested, her tone growing hotter with, well, defense. she felt her cheeks flush, and she bit her lower lip hard, keeping silent to calm herself down. she shouldn't just freak out like that- not when she is trying to keep a secret. inwardly scolding herself, ruby felt ashamed. some stoic person she was. kamil spoke again, and she blinked a few times, snapping out of the mental battle. "implying? whatever do you mean?" she joked, spinning on her heels to face the entrance of the hospital wing. she began walking, her pace feeling more normal now, less sluggish and forced. maybe it was getting her mind off of the nightmare. well, it was working. when she reached the door, she leaned forward to grab the handle, assuming the kamil was following. "we're gonna need brooms. you have one?" she asked, looking back over her shoulder. she did, of course.
"it's not super far away, but walking is out of the question. i think that hogsmeade is the only place one can get to on foot from here." ruby pondered the thought for a moment. yeah, it would seem that hogwarts grounds were pretty isolated. though hogsmeade was nice, it would be great to visit some other places too. whatever, it was a weekend so no professor could argue. they wouldn't be long. ruby just wanted to check, is all. she forced herself not to think of what would happen if her mom had come back. kamil's voice, less jeering than years before, spoke up again. she rolled her eyes. "oh, is that why?" she chuckled. "well come on then."
OOC- want to end this thread and continue it in the more residential boards? ... you start? xDD only because i ended this one.
