WHEN YOU'RE AT THE END OF THE ROAD & YOU LOST ALL SENSE OF CONTROL ,& your thoughts have taken their toll , --------------------------------------------------------------------- Cayden glanced around as he made his way into the Ravenclaw commonroom. Empty, despite all odds. For the past week he had been trying to find a quiet place to work on his writing and possibly even a little homework, but it seemed like the castle population had doubled in size simply to scare him away from every possible sanctuary. His usual place, the library was more often than not full of people getting ready for exams, so he had set about the grounds looking for somewhere else. He had tried the great hall, countless classrooms, the owlery, the quidditch pitch and once, out by the whomping willow. Earlier that morning, in desperation, he had even tried the Kitchens. But, the kitchen staff quickly grew tired having to reach around him and his clumsiness, and sent him off with a bite to eat, which he was eating at this very moment. Cayden laughed slightly as he thought of the quote 'Quitters never win and Winners never quit', something his mother had always told him when he was younger. It was obviously not a hundred percent accurate considering as soon as he had given up his search he had gotten what he wanted.
As he sat down in one of the arm chairs, he marveled at his good fortune, silently of course to keep from jinxing it. Cayden then picked up his pen and set on his first task, which was writing a letter to his father explaining his latest excuse for not coming home for break. In his entire five years at Hogwarts, Cayden had only been forced to go home for the holidays once, and it was not a pleasant experience. His father had a bunch of his drinking buddies over and they got so drunk they couldn't remember their own names and when Cayden attempted to send them home, he and his father wound up in a brawl a at and Cayden went back to school with a black eye and a broken wrist. Needless to say, he no longer needed to convince the school staff that he should stay. But, he sent a letter to his father every year to check up on him and provide him with a new excuse why his son wasn't coming home, simply because despite the disgust and disappointment that he felt for him, Marcus Johnson was still his father.
Cayden ran a hand through his hair as he came back from his memories to the task at hand. He quickly conjured up an excuse about needing extra time to study and how all the resources he'd need would be at the school and a whole load of nonsense. After signing the letter, he folded it up, placed it in an envelope, and set it down on the table. For a moment, he sat there debating whether or not he should send the letter this year. But, his thoughts were interrupted from the noise of footsteps behind him.'Bloody Hell, no peace around here.' he thought as he turned around to face the intruder.

sually it was pretty quiet in the library, and anyone who wanted to read or study, could do so in peace. Right now, that was not the case. Right now, there were a lot of students in there cramming for the exams, and chattering like a bunch of hyenas because they didn’t have a care in the world about the people around them who actually wanted to accomplish something. Sometimes, she didn’t understand why these kids were allowed to stay in there. It made her wonder how some of the kids in there could call themselves Ravenclaws too. Ravenclaws were supposed to be the smart ones. They were the ones that did their work, and actually tried to learn, but most of the ones in the library were the ones talking. It was quite annoying when someone was trying to work Soon more students started to crowd in, and not only did they come into the library, they decided that it would be okay to sit around her, and bother her. Isabella was not going to stand for such nonsense. Shooting a glare at the students around her, she slammed her hands down on the table in front of her and stood up. "Imbeciles." She growled as she picked up her pile of books and wrapped her arms around them, so they could not easily fall from her grasp. She gave the students one more look of disgust before she stomped out of the library and down the hall. "Might as well go back to the common room." She mumbled to herself, as she started to calm down, now that she was away from the library and all the students who didn‘t know how to behave. Isabella wasn‘t usually like that. She was usually placed somewhere on the campus by herself, doing what she felt like, and not bothering anyone. Of course, this time she wasn‘t bothering anyone either, but they were bothering her. It was understandable that she would act the way she did. All she wanted to do was have some peace and quiet to study, and their 'fun' was distracting her from doing just that. She hated being bothered, and she hated people who didn‘t care about the others around them, who might actually give a hoot and a holler. Whatever, they just needed to get over themselves. Coming up to the portrait for the Ravenclaw common rooms, she let out a sigh of relief to finally be there. Hopefully no one was in there to bother her. She quickly answered the riddle that was given to her, and then entered the now open pathway. As soon as her feet hit the floor of the common room, her eyes glanced over at a boy who was now looking back at her. He looked kind of agitated. What had she possibly done wrong now? Holding tightly to her books she gave him a questioning look. "What?" She asked, her tone unintentionally snooty. [/blockquote][/blockquote] Baby Look At Me! Outfit And Tell Me What You See! WHEN YOU'RE AT THE END OF THE ROAD & YOU LOST ALL SENSE OF CONTROL ,& your thoughts have taken their toll , --------------------------------------------------------------------- “What?” the girl said in a rather condescending tone. He could tell she obviously was not in the best mood and decided not to push her buttons any further. “Nothing,” he replied trying to get rid of the frustrated look on his face as he gathered up his things preparing to leave the room. Cayden did not want to seem rude and he was sure that he probably did by leaving. But, he had come for some peace and quiet, and if one girl had come in here, there were sure to be others to follow shortly babbling about boys and clothes and all that other nonsense. He bit his lip as he quickly tried to think of some other place he could go. He still had yet to try the greenhouses or the hospital wing. And if worst came to worst, he decided that he would go out on one of the first-year boats to the middle of the lake and finish his studying there.
As he stood up he glanced back over at the girl. She was obviously part of his house, otherwise she would not of been able to interrupt him, but he hadn't seen her before. It bothered him because he knew most of the kids in school at least by face if not by name. Her face seemed familiar, but he didn't recognize her, if that makes sense. “What's your name and what year are you?”he asked. After a moment of trying to figure out why he hadn't seen her, he cursed himself for thinking to much and realized his voice sounded like more of a professor asking about the ingredients to a potion than a student who was most likely just over a year older than her, if that, asking her for her name. He quickly added a smile before offering her his hand. “I'm Cayden, by the way, Cayden Johnson.” Hopefully he hadn't insulted her by preparing to leave, he was not in the mood to argue. Then again, he never was. Arguments in his mind were absolutely pointless, especially when the other person was as stubborn as Cayden, because neither person is ever willing to admit that the other was right and they were wrong. He rubbed the back of his neck with his other hand as he waited for her response, knowing that he probably seemed rather awkward at the moment.

sabella didn’t understand why the boy was so agitated, and it was just adding to her bad mood. She wasn’t successful in her studies while she was in the library because of those annoying students, and now she wasn’t able to figure out what was wrong with him. It was aggravating to her, and right now, she felt like throwing a tantrum. Yes, right now she felt like acting like a little kid, who would be stomping around and yelling because they didn’t get what they wanted. But instead, she controlled that urge and just watched him as he started to gather his things in a frustrated way. It was making her anxious, and all she wanted to do was yell out ‘what’s your problem?’ But alas, she held that in too. Why did people have to be so frustrating? When he looked at her again, she sighed and looked away. It was quite uncomfortable having someone stare at you, and it made it even worse when it was a boy doing so. Did he have a staring problem? She knew she was pretty and all, not to sound full of herself, but she had never had someone stare at her. She was taken aback slightly when he asked for her name and year. The tone in his voice sounded like he was a teacher asking a new student the same question. She glanced back over at the boy and then walked over to one of the tables to set her books down. She wasn’t meaning to act like she was ignoring him, but that was probably how it seemed. Isabella soon saw his outstretched hand, and looked up from her pile of books to see a smile on his face. Now he was being nice. Was he bipolar or something? It seemed like his mood switched from frustrated, to demanding, to nice. Whatever. No need to over think it. He probably wasn’t bipolar either, just trying to get into a more friendly mood. Now that she thought about it, that’s what it looked like. As long as he didn’t talk to her like he was higher than her again, she might be able to get along with him. Pushing her thoughts away, she let a faint smile come to her lips as she took his hand for the friendly greeting. "Nice to meet you Cayden," She said, still unsure about him. Of course, being a girl and him a boy, what was there to understand? The opposite sex could be so confusing. "I'm Isabella Dalton." She took her hand back and let it drop to her side. "I'm in my fourth year, by the way, but it is my first year at Hogwarts." She added, finally answering his question from before. [/blockquote][/blockquote] Baby Look At Me! WHEN YOU'RE AT THE END OF THE ROAD & YOU LOST ALL SENSE OF CONTROL ,& your thoughts have taken their toll , --------------------------------------------------------------------- As she shook his hand and answered the question, he silently sighed a breath of relief. Happy that he hadn't totally freaked her out, what with the staring and demanding her name and such. Only to catch himself and think of something to say before he weirded her out anymore. “Sorry, about the staring a second ago. ” he said with a slight smile, rubbing the back of his head again. “Oh, and the frustrated look and all. I just have been looking for a quiet pace to study for the past few days and I thought I found it..." He realized he must have come off extremely odd a second ago, but, he was surprised by the need to explain himself to her. That was new. “Although, I guess you didn't make any noise really until I asked you a question...” he added abashedly. Often times, he forgot that when he paused to think, that other people couldn't follow his train of thought. For example, just now he had gone from frustrated, to confused, to curious, but Isabella obviously couldn't follow any of that considering she wasn't a mind reader.
“A Dalton, huh?” he added as he sat back down. He didn't want to leave her with a bad impression of him. Simply because he hated to be thought poorly of, even if it was by someone he probably wouldn't see again. “That would explain why I haven't seen you around before now.” He had heard a bit in the halls about the Daltons coming to Hogwarts and such. Apparently they had made quite a splash at the school, which Cayden supposed, was easier when there seemed to be so many of them. He had to admit that he was curious about the family considering he had no other siblings, as far as he knew at least. But knowing his father, he probably had a half-brother or sister running around somewhere in London. Cayden was sure that she had been asked plenty of questions by nearly every person she had met so far, which, at Hogwarts, would be a lot, and decided against adding his own to the mix.
He began to finish addressing the letter he had been working on earlier, content to sit here and work on his studying and leave her alone for the rest of the time until he remembered seeing her name somewhere. “Wait....Isabella Dalton?” he thought about it for a second. “Aren't you our new keeper?” he asked although he was pretty sure he was right. Other wise he would not have asked. That's another thing about Cayden, most of the time when he asks a question, he already knows the answer, he's either just confirming his answer or trying to find something out from your answer. “I'm one of the chasers.” he added explaining why he was asking in the first place..

sabella raised an eyebrow at his apology about staring. She downcast her eyes for a moment in thought and then looked at him again with a playful gleam in her eye. “Yeah, well don’t stare too often alright? I know I’m cute, but there’s no need for looking at me all the time.” She joked, figuring it would lighten the mood. Thinking about what she had just said she realized she sounded like her brother. “I need to stop hanging around him so much,” She thought, tucking a stray piece of hair behind her ear. She gave a slight nod when he mentioned looking for a place with peace and quiet. “Ah. I see we search for the same thing. I was just in the library. Those students are so annoying.” She told him as she placed one hand on her hip and shifted so that all her weight was on that one side. “I came here thinking no one would be here, but look, I got someone who likes to stare.” She said, once again trying to keep the mood light. She hoped she wasn’t freaking him out with her strange mood swing. She was just not in the mood to argue, plus, he seemed nice enough. She smiled slightly with a hint of pride. She was proud to be a Dalton. Actually she loved it. Her family was amazing, well, except for her crazy parents, but they were her parents. She had to love them. “Yes, I am a Dalton.” She told him, “Have you heard much about us?” She asked, now curious. She knew that there were always rumors flying around about her family, but she didn’t pay attention enough to hear them. She wanted to know what people were saying about them, because then she could tell her siblings and cousins, if they didn’t already know, and they could do something about it. She wasn’t really one for resolving her own issues around the school. If someone wanted to talk about her, she didn’t really care, because it would always come back to bite them in the ass. Her and her family stuck together, and when one was being messed with, all of them got involved. So, as you could see, she wasn’t too worried. Figuring that their chat was pretty much over, she went to go pick up one of her books as he worked on, well, whatever it was he was working on, but stopped when he talked to her again. She glanced over at him as she sat down in a armchair across the way from him. She smiled once more at the mention of Quidditch. “Yes, I am the new keeper.” She was proud of her position. She could have been the seeker if she really wanted to, but she wanted to save that for someone who liked being the center of attention more than she did. “Hm. A chaser? I guess we’ll be seeing a lot of each other then.” She said, setting the book she had picked up in her lap, just in case he was going to keep talking. She had been trying to get away from all the talking, but she was enjoying her conversation with the boy. Perhaps they could be friends. [/blockquote][/blockquote] Baby Look At Me! WHEN YOU'RE AT THE END OF THE ROAD & YOU LOST ALL SENSE OF CONTROL ,& your thoughts have taken their toll , --------------------------------------------------------------------- For a moment he thought she was going to blow off his apology and hold it against him. So, at first when she replied back he simply nodded, he probably looked rather dull but he was just happy she had accepted the apology, or at least he thought that's what she meant. After a second though, he recovered his wits. “I'll try. But you know you are pretty cute. It'll be a hard task not to stare.” he replied as a playful smirk danced onto his face. He was of course joking, not that she wasn't pretty, but, he knew how to control himself and wouldn't find it difficult to keep from staring. He laughed as she explained that she was up here looking for peace and quiet just like he was. “I suppose great minds think alike. And besides, being here with me is better than having to deal with those kids in the library, isn't it?” he asked somewhat sure of the answer to come. Of course it was better being here. Otherwise she would have left already. Or at least, he would have if he were in her position. He wasn't one to cause conflict but he wouldn't put up with people who got on his nerves. So, in a situation like in the library he'd simply leave, there'd be nothing to gain from arguing like a bunch of ninnies.
As he saw her smile, it was obvious that she either liked being recognized or really liked her family. Either way he had heard a lot about her family and he said exactly that. Most of what he heard, he assumed to be nasty rumors spread by the bored and ignorant but some seemed valid. “I heard that you guys were home schooled before coming to Hogwarts. I also heard there are like eight of you but you are not all siblings there are a cousin or two in there I think. I heard that one of you is in an arranged marriage. And some other things that don't come to mind.” he said before adding “It must be really great having family here with you to sort of back you up in rough spots and that sort of thing.”
He smiled as she confirmed that she was the keeper. “Well hopefully you are good. We could use it.” he added with a slight chuckle. Due to the fact that they were the 'scholarly' house they often had trouble competing in things like Quidditch. It wasn't that they weren't good they just needed to get the house overall more into it. At least that's what he thought. “I suppose we will.” he replied. They would certainly be seeing a lot more of each other, but he was glad of it. Isabella seemed like a really cool girl. She wasn't the loud obnoxious type and she seemed smart, plus she was obviously athletic being the keeper. She definitely was someone whom he could see himself being friends with.

sabella let out a small chuckle after she heard his comment. It was obvious he was joking, which was good. She had meant to lighten the mood, and it had seemed that it had worked. “Okay, good luck.” She laughed, shifting in the arm chair so that she was laying across it, with her legs hanging over the side. The book she had in her lap was now placed on her stomach. Her head then nodded in agreement to his next statement. “Yes, I guess so and even though we just met, I can honestly say I like you better than those in the library.” She said, winking at him. Those kids in the library were so disrespectful, and she was glad to get away from them. It was a relief to be in the common room and only run into one person. He wasn’t annoying either. She had doubts about him at first, but now she was getting along with him, and he was able to hold a conversation. There was nothing worse than talking to some idiot who had no clue what to talk about. People who couldn’t hold a decent conversation were just a waste of time. Her eyes became downcast as she listened to what he had heard about her family. She wasn’t upset, she was just in thought as he talked. Everything he had said was correct. “Yes, that’s true. We were all home schooled until now.” She started, beginning to confirm the rumors. “There are eight of us. Three are my siblings. Two brothers and a sister. The other four are my cousins.” The arranged marriage was also correct unfortunately. Isabella felt bad for her brother. Jaslene was nice, and she was a friend to her, but being forced to marry someone was awful. “My brother Joshua is in an arranged marriage. My sister Beth will also be in one, but our parents haven’t found anyone yet.” A frown came across her face after telling him about Joshua and Beth. “Unfortunately, I might be put into one too. There’s no telling what our parents are planning right now. It’s kind of scary.” She didn’t smile again, even though the thought of having back up was nice, but she did nod. “Knowing that people have your back no matter what is nice. A lot of people are afraid to mess with us, because then all eight of us will make their life miserable.” A small chuckle escaped her lips now at the thought. She wasn’t meaning to scare him off, if that’s what she was doing, but it was the truth. Not everyone was, but a lot of people didn’t mess with them because of the consequences. The Daltons didn’t tolerate bullying, especially when it came to the people they care about. Isabella crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow at him. “Are you questioning my skills Mister Johnson?” She teased, pretending she was all mad about what he had said. She knew she was good, and she wouldn’t let the team down. “Didn’t I just get done talking about my family backing me up?” For a moment she held a straight face, like she was really upset, but then she laughed a bit. “I’m just kidding. But, I do believe I am good. They wouldn’t just put anyone in these spots if they didn’t think we couldn’t handle them.” She assured him, making sure this time she really didn’t scare him, and to confirm that she was a good keeper. She liked her position. She was quite important to the game, as well as everyone else. [/blockquote][/blockquote] Baby Look At Me! Outfit And Tell Me What You See! WHEN YOU'RE AT THE END OF THE ROAD & YOU LOST ALL SENSE OF CONTROL ,& your thoughts have taken their toll , --------------------------------------------------------------------- He simply nodded and laughed as she offered him good luck. Although he had been joking ,about having trouble, she was rather attractive plus she was rather good company. After a few moments of thinking about that he caught himself. He was still sitting there having a conversation with her, he wasn't going to evaluate her when she was sitting right in front of him, that was rude. Luckily he had caught himself before she started speaking again. Something about those kids in the library. 'Yes, I guess so and even though we just met, I can honestly say I like you better than those in the library.' he smirked as she said that and quickly thought of what to say next. “Well I should hope you like me better than them. If not I might have to go cry in a corner for a moment.” he replied with a laugh. He was having fun talking to her so it was much easier than normal for him to think of clever things to say. When he was bored or nervous you could tell because everything that came out of his mouth was absolutely ridiculous and often off-topic.
He noticed her eyes turn downward and wasn't sure if she was in thought or upset. Either way, he didn't know what to do besides sit there and wait for a response. He was surprised to find that all three of the rumors he had heard were correct. He had thought for sure that the only one that was true was the home-schooling one. As she began talking about the arranged marriages he could tell that she wasn't too happy. He would have been scared out of his mind if his father got to choose who he got to marry. Especially since his father would probably wind up marrying him to one of his debt-collector's daughters in order to make a dent in the mountain of debt he was in. He shuddered slightly at the thought. When a chuckle finally escaped her he exhaled. He hadn't realized he'd been holding his breath, but that made sense, he had no idea what to do with an upset girl. “Well, remind me never to piss you off.” he replied with a slight smile. He could not afford to have seven people after him.
'Didn’t I just get done talking about my family backing me up?' she said and Cayden laughed until he glanced up to see that she had quite the serious expression on her face. For a second he actually believed she was upset. He hadn't meant to insult her abilities he was just mentioning they needed skilled members on the team. He was about to explain that when she laughed. He then felt his cheeks burn as he realized she had been messing with him. “That's true, they don't let just anyone join the team..” he replied quietly still rather embarrassed. He hadn't been to the try-outs because he was sick so he hadn't seen any of the new members play yet..
