i‘d walk through hell WITH A SMILE ON MY FACE - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Slithering his way down the corridors, he was home again. Both in himself, and at Hogwarts. Let me explain something about Kaleb Garcia. Kaleb Garcia was an asshole. No if’s, but’s or maybe’s, it was just the way he was. And to be perfectly honest, he knew it. He’d been this way before, thanks to his parents, and now he was back this way again. He’d found that over time, the more you cared, the more you got hurt. That was definite. He’d lost everyone he’d loved, and he’d gotten hurt like hell in the process. If you didn’t know Kaleb, you may think he was a nice enough guy. But if you’d met him, or heard about his reputation, which was vast and widespread, you’d know he wasn’t one to be messed with. He’d tried being nice, and it had gotten him hurt, and it had taken hanging out with one Nott twin, to see that the real him wasn’t evil, but he wasn’t nice either. Kaleb was somewhere in between nice and evil.
He was back to flirting, and dragging as many girls to bed as he could, as they were his proffered gender, although he was bisexual. He‘d seen a few cute guys, but he wasn‘t ready to go down that road again quite yet. The only sex he‘d had with a guy was with his best friend, Kai, and surprise surprise, he‘d lost him. No, Kaleb was back to his usual tactics. He was even employing his old habits. If they were a good lay, you see, Kaleb would leave a note. If they weren't, then they weren't worth the hassle, and he'd just walk away, safe in the knowledge that he had another notch in his bedpost. Yes, that was Kaleb Garcia for you. If you got hurt, tough luck, you were stupid enough to fall into his trap, so it was your problem. Especially if you'd heard the rumours about him and thought you could change him. that would never happen. not again. He'd changed too many times to do it again, he'd end up with whiplash.
Kaleb lay himself down on the sofa in the common room and shut his eyes, thinking that seeing as there were no cute girls around, he’d take a nap, or at least rest his eyes. If anyone new came in, he’d hear them, and would just have to open his eyes a little to see who it was. Maybe it would be someone he could flirt and have a laugh with, or maybe it was someone he was on good terms with, or as good terms as you’d get with Kaleb Garcia. He was looking as hot as ever, rocking some tight top that clung to the six pack that he’d kept, and some skinny jeans that fit nicely with his converse. His wand was tucked hap-hazard into a pocket that he’d used a spell on so that it would hold the wand perfectly. He moved his arms behind him, to support his head, with the messy but hot, ‘just got out of bed’ hair, and his eyelids slipped shut, his awesome shutter glasses covering them. He slipped into a nap, and woke himself with a start, half an hour later. He checked the time on his watch to confirm it, and then sighed. The common room was empty, basically, aside from two people playing wizards chess.
Deciding that this was boring, kaleb pushed himself up and headed out of the castle and wandered into the village, choosing to go and take a drink at the Three Broomsticks, before he headed back to his apartment to pick up some stuff. He slipped in through the doors and headed for a newly vacant table, whose previous customers had just left the bar, and headed out into the cobbled streets. He stopped at the bar and bought himself a butterbeer, before taking a seat at his table, sipping the butterbeer. His eyes glanced up as the doors opened once more, and he took in the appearance of someone he recognised. She looked amazing!

home sweet home! france had been absolutely marvellous and victoria had loved every single minute of her time there. sure, she had missed some of her friends from hogwarts whilst she was finishing off her education at beauxbatons, but she wouldn't have wished to come home. the weather in france was a lot better to begin with, and then there was the nicer uniform, the gleaming palace that was the school, and the lack of boys to piss you off. with there being so many girls, things had gotten a little bitchy at times, but everyone just shook it off as if it was nothing. people weren't quite that friendly with or forgiving of each other at hogwarts, and victoria felt that perhaps it was the house system that had caused that.
as wonderful as it had been, france would never be home to her, only england could do that. okay, so scotland felt like home to, but she'd never really thought of them being different countries. you didn't need a passport to cross the border, and you weren't treated any differently. her apartment in hogsmeade still had a lot of her stuff in, and since she now had her own house in godric's hollow, she needed to move it all. there was a good chance that some of the people from hogwarts would be milling about too since it was so close to the end of term, so it would a pleasant surprise to stumble upon somebody she was good friends with. not literally of course, she didn't take to kindly to be walked into herself, but she found people analysed what people said too much instead of listening.
before she started doing what it was that she had come to hogsmeade to do, vicky felt like going into the three broomsticks. as far as the law was concerned, she was an adult, despite being the same age as the seventh years at hogwarts. fortunately for her, beauxbatons ended the school year in june, whilst hogwarts now ended in july. they would still be students for another two weeks at the most, but she was free to do as she pleased. pulling the sunglasses off of her face as she stepped inside, she closed them as she approached the bar, ordering a cherry syrup and soda with ice, before spotting a familiar face looking her way. once she received the drink, she walked over and sat opposite him, a wide smile on her face. "si ce n'est pas kaleb garcia!"

i‘d walk through hell WITH A SMILE ON MY FACE - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - there she was, walking up to the bar as if she'd never left the place that he, she, and many others called home. not the bar of course, although that was home to someone, the owner, gerrald rushbrook. he'd always counted hogwarts and hogsmeade as the same, like one little joint and connected thing, that was interlaced with each other. so hogsmeade, as a part of hogsmeade, counted as home to him. and here she was, back in the little village, as if she'd never left, and as beautiful as the day she had. her brown hair had fallen as usual, perfectly into place, and the dress that she was wearing hugged her frame perfectly in the right parts, drawing attention to her biggest selling points on her body, one being her waist, and the other, he was too polite to even think about, even though he could still imagine them, as clear as if it had been yesterday that they had been cavorting in the bath. he wished it was yesterday, and that all the zane mess could have been avoided, saving himself from pain.
he kept her eyes on her at all times, unable to tear them away. his trademark smirk was recaptured and placed on his lips, his arm lolling lazily over the back of the chair next to him. it was crazy to think that she'd left, because it didn't feel like it at all. it felt like their time spent apart was gone, that they had not long walked out of the bathroom and here she was. with different coloured eyes? he would ask about that later of course, but it was probably the result of a spell, although either way her eyes would always be pretty. he took another lazy sip of his butterbeer, using his free hand to raise the glass to his lips, and then placed it back down and smiled his sexy smile, as she slid into the seat opposite him. "no comprende mi amigo, but you look amazing!"
he complimented, his eyes scanning her, unashamedly, as he couldn't help himself. there had always been something about vicky that got her stuck in his thoughts, and no doubt this little encounter would do that again. she'd said she was possibly coming back, yes, but he didn't know it would be so soon! he'd not even gotten any warning from her, or any plans to meet up! he was glad then that he'd stopped in for a drink. kaleb leant confidently across the table and pressed his lips softly to her cheek, before moving and relaxing once again in his chair, with the same smile on his lips. it was the smile that made all the girls go crazy for him, and some guys too, and he was wearing it once again out of habit, just like he used to. although, he supposed that he leant more toward the women than the men, especially under the influence of elliott nott, who was also very flirtatious and had brought the old, flirtatious kaleb back to life.[/blockquote] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - TAGGED victoria benett LYRICS nasty habits by You Me At Six CLOTHES clickeh COUNT 513 NOTES warning, he's changed again lol (; CREDIT EMMA !?

everything about the village seemed just the same as the day she had left. the same people wandering about the streets wearing the same type of clothes, the same smells and sounds, only the changes in shop windows gave away that she had ever left at all. the three broomsticks was no exception, the regulars sitting at the bar as always, the crowd of hogwarts kids in the corner smiling and laughing but obviously disappointed that they couldn't trick the barmaid into thinking they were old enough to buy butterbeer. vicky was glad of that, she wouldn't want to come back after such a short period of time and find everything was different. it wouldn't have felt like coming home then.
kaleb did look different though. he was still the same person with the same hair, the same face, the same eyes, much unlike herself, the same nose, mouth, ears, everything was physically the same. but the smile was different, the posture was different, and the general attitude that you could work out just by looking at them had changed. not changed, reverted. he wasn't the person she had left, but he wasn't a stranger to her either. this was the boy that she had met in the girls' bathroom, not the man she had befriened afterwards. was this a good thing? she couldn't say for sure, but she was pleased to see him all the same.
"sorry, i don't speak spanish, and i guess you don't speak french either," vicky replied with a kind hearted smile, before adding, "as do you." she was instantly glad that she had decided to change out of her trackies into something more appropriate to going outside. he pressed a kiss to her cheek, which she allowed him to do, but that would be all. after all, he was still a student, and she could go to court just as easily as zane had if anything more happened between them. she probably wouldn't go to azkaban considering she wasn't that much older than him and she had no legal responsibility for his welfare.

i‘d walk through hell WITH A SMILE ON MY FACE - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - kaleb smirked as she mentioned his pathetic attempt at spanish. he'd not learned any languages, preferring instead to speak the language that he would need to talk the girls around him into bed. english. if he wanted to say something hot in french, then he'd buy a damned book and translate that sentence, it wasn't rocket science, and there was no point wasting years and years learning french, when he'd only use it once. and not to mention that he had met someone who'd spent around four years doing french, and had gone to france, only to find out that the local french people spoke not only too fast, but the french that she'd learned had been ridiculous and at a much lower level than conversational french, so if he ever went to france he was hiring a translator or taking vicky, because it would just be easier for everyone. besides, he didn't want to mess up the language, and say what he thought was 'hey, i love your dress', and ended up actually being 'hey, your dress looks like an elephant wore it.' because it would not only get him nowhere with the girls, but it would result in a nice slap if he was lucky.
far from insulting girls in a language that he could hardly speak, he would rather hire a translator and make sure that he said the correct thing, and didn't suggest that they shared their wardrobe with an animal the size of a house, because he'd never get into her wardrobe if he did that. unless he found a weird fetish girl that liked being insulted, and she would be only too happy to share his bed if he told her that tortoises could make a better top than the one she wore. at least vicky could speak english, because if she could only speak french, well then that would be bad, and he'd just have to shut up and hope that his alluring smirk could do the job without a word. his mind was clearly providing him with the memory of the first time he met her, and he knew all to well how fantastic she had been as a companion in that bath. maybe they would revisit those emotions once again some time in the future. "not at all. but who needs words when good looks can do wonders?"
He asked with a laugh, sliding back into the comfortable position he had been upon her arrival in the pub. "how've you been? what happened to your eyes? there's no lucky lad i should be on the look out for, is there?" he enquired, wondering with the last question, if she had met a man in france and brought him back with her, and if he was big, muscular, and likely to kill kaleb for even kissing vicky's cheek. he could just duel the guy and kick his ass anyway, no trouble, but he doubted that vicky would be too happy with that, which was suckish, and he'd have to just try and be some sort of diplomat. he could take a punch anyway, many knew that now, and maybe it would impress her, that he was willing to take a hit just to kiss her on the cheek. yes. she still looked ravishing.[/blockquote] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - TAGGED victoria benett LYRICS nasty habits by You Me At Six CLOTHES clickeh COUNT 551 NOTES warning, he's changed again lol (; CREDIT EMMA !?

vicky was rather fortunate that she had such a good grasp of the english language, because that certainly made it easier for her to learn others. she felt it had something to do with the amount of books she had read - she'd always rather enjoyed reading, and it had definitely increased her vocabulary, as well as improved her grammar. with those solid foundations to start on, french had been easy. some of the words were very similar to english, and it was just a matter of understanding the french grammar rules and then applying that to words and sentences. it had been rather a necessity though - after all, you could hardly expect to go to a french school and be able to speak english all the time.
"would i be far from the truth in thinking you'd started bed hopping again?" vicky enquired with a raised eyebrow, taking a sip of her drink as she did so. "i'm fine thanks, and yourself?" she replied, though he quickly asked about her eyes. if she expected anyone to notice, it was kaleb, but victoria had grown accustomed to the change and thought little of it. "a friend of mine did them for me, though i forgot to ask them the spell. unfortunately there isn't anyone you should be looking out for. have you found yourself a lovely young woman yet, or a man for that matter?"

i‘d walk through hell WITH A SMILE ON MY FACE - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - kaleb smirked when she mentioned bed hopping. if anyone would notice his change in overall demeanour, it would be victoria bennett. vicky had known all sides of him, from the first time she met him when he was, just like now, a bed hopper. she'd seen him go then to a nice man in love, and then to a shivering wreck when he'd been broken, before being happy again with kai, and now he was back to the bed hopper, like he was moving in a vicious circle. he was never going to get away from his reputation so why try to run away? besides, he'd not been bed hopping quite as much, as whereas before he'd have a girl almost every other night, he only did it once a week now, sometimes more, but no more than three. three was when he was having a bad week. girls ate ice cream, kaleb bedded girls. it was his comfort food, so to speak. yes, he knew that wasn't a very respectable way to speak of girls, but they were helping him out at least, because he did need attention when he took them to bed, and they gave him what he needed and more, so he was thankful for that at least. he could have been alone in his dorm room, angry and upset, but he vented his emotions through sex, like he always used to do.
"no, you wouldn't, but you are observant. if it's any consolation, i'm not doing it quite as much."
he said with a smirk, knowing she probably wouldn't count that as a consolation, because as a woman she could easily get offended by his mistreatment of women. and it was mistreatment. he was using them for sex, and there was nothing worse than that. okay, waking up to an empty bed in the morning could have been worse than that, and he kind of left them with that too. he didn't stop to think about the consequences of his actions anymore though, because he just wanted to live without consequences, so he wasn't going to even acknowledge that they existed, and that every action, or every word had them. "i've been better, but i've been worse, as you well know" he said with a shrug. "no. well. there is this one girl, but i don't think that she'd let me call her mine. yet." he said cockily, his eyes returning to her with the smile on his face. oh, crap. she didn't know about zane being dead. "vicky, i've got something to tell you about zane" his voice faltered when he said the name, but only slightly, and he cast his eyes down for a second, as with the name came the memories. vicky could hardly say she didn't like the 'old' kaleb, he was the first person she had met inside his body after all. then again, she couldn't define who or what the 'old' kaleb was. was he the megawhore, or the boy in love with his teacher? maybe the broken kaleb that she'd supported, or the one that had fallen in love with his best friend and her worst enemy? would she ever be able to work that out? victoria doubted that she ever would figure it out, because she could never figure kaleb out. his personality changed so much, and that in combination with his habit of being rather unpredictable made it even harder. sometimes she could anticipate what he was thinking or what he was going to do, but he confused her for the most part.
"well then it's a good job i'm back, we can get you sorted out again," vicky replied, but she doubted she'd have much influence on him. the only reason she had before was because zane had smashed him into pieces, but he'd since grown more confident, the evidence of which was his renewed bedhopping. she didn't agree him using girls for his own entertainment, but they knew what they were getting into, as had she. "would i know the girl in question?" she'd known most of the people at hogwarts, most by name rather than personality, though it was likely that she'd forgotten them since leaving. then he mentioned zane, to which her smile certainly faded. not in the sense that she was worried about it, but because he didn't deserve a smile. "go on then."

i‘d walk through hell WITH A SMILE ON MY FACE - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - kaleb wondered what the girl across from her was thinking. she clearly didn't look so impressed that he'd brought himself back, and was now the old him again. he couldn't get why, because this was the guy that she had sex with, so why wasn't she impressed that he was back? huh? this was the first version of him she'd known. maybe she was indifferent and his paranoia was effecting him. okay, no, he really wasn't paranoid, so maybe he was just thinking that her expressions meant more than they really did. yeah, that was it. she probably didn't care which version of him it was, because the fact was that this was him. or at least it was him for now. he knew enough to say that you could never be sure of who you were, just sure of who you are for the moment. the things that you do, and the people that you meet, and most importantly, the feelings and situations you get yourself into would always be able to change you. trust him, he knew that from experience. he'd been through enough to know that who you are is never definate, it adapts, just like animals did to surroundings, people did to situations and people.
"oh right, well i think i'm probably a bit too far gone for that, but by all means, you can try."
he said with a cheeky grin. he would admit that the first thought he had when she said that was definately full of sexual connotations, but he wasn't going to tell her that, she was a beater and would probably kick his ass. or at least she used to be beater, before she left. just like kai was. he was over him now at least, and all he felt for kai was slight hatred, for how much he'd hurt him, but it was mainly indifference now. "you would know her very well. she's pretty, smart, funny, has a great sense of style, is wearing lovely sun glasses." he said with a smirk, wondering if she'd get the hint. he was of course, describing her, and watching her all the time, his eyes flitting to her clothing and her glasses when they got mentioned, as if to give her a little push toward the answer. he'd always had a soft spot for vicky, ever since the bathroom incident. when it came back to zane, he didn't know how to tell her. "he's dead, vicky. he died in azkaban. dead. gone. buried. not breathing. dead" he said bluntly, figuring it was the best way forward. the worst was that they had put him there, even if he deserved it. they had, in effect, sent him to his death. people changed. that was the end of it. there was nothing you could do to stop it. all you could do was get used to it and don't let those changes get in the way of what was important. kaleb had changed now, so maybe he changed a little more often than most people, and vicky would just have to get used to it. she'd lost him as a friend when she'd told the staff about zane, but he'd realised afterwards her intentions had been for the best. she'd lost him again when kamil had popped up again, and that seemed to be the case for quite a few of his other friends. then she'd gone to beauxbatons and lost pretty much all contact with him, but after a letter she was back, and snyder was nowhere to be seen, which was just as well seeing as she didn't have a bludger handy.
"then try i shall," vicky replied with a satisfied smile, having another mouthful of her drink. he then started describing the girl that he held feelings for, and it sounded like he was talking about her until he mentioned sunglasses. she wasn't wearing sunglasses, though she had been as she entered the pub. whether that was a relief or not, vicky wasn't sure. she was aware that there were still a few feelings for him buried deep within her, but she wasn't a student any more, he still was. there couldn't be anything between them, not right now anyway. besides victoria wanted someone her own age, someone she could relate to through positive things. as much as either of them disliked it, the only thing they had in common was zane, and that wasn't something she wanted to dwell on.
"you say that as if it should bother me," victoria said somewhat coldly, looking away from kaleb and staring at the sunglasses in her hand, tracing the edge with her thumb. he deserved what he'd got. he'd made them think that he loved them, that they would run away together, and then bent them into whatever shape he pleased. those shapes had been fragile, thin, weak, and had shattered when he was bored of them, casting them to one side like a child at christmas, eager to move on to the next present. he'd died in azkaban, but that was better than the fate that would have awaited him if he'd gone out of the other door of the courtroom. somebody else would have killed him, maybe kaleb's father, maybe her sister or mother, maybe even kaleb and vicky themselves.

i‘d walk through hell WITH A SMILE ON MY FACE - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - kai had hurt kaleb. it was safe to say that this was probably one of the factors that had made him change back. yeah, sure, he'd hurt him too, but kaleb hadn't mailed kamil rubbing it in his face that there was a girl. yes, he'd done that. how heartless was that? there's a ravenclaw girl for him and kaede had no one. well, now he had someone, he had himself. and what had kaleb replied to that letter with? well wishes and hopes that it went well for him, because kaleb had wanted kai to be happy, that was all. and then eventually, kaleb had finally removed all traces of his love for kai from his system. everyone had said he was bad news, even bethany dalton, and now here it was, the truth. if it wasn't for him he would probably be the kaleb vicky last knew. well maybe kaleb would have to thank him a little, because old kaleb was back and better than ever. yes, with wittier comments, better facial expressions and kick ass looks, he was good to go.
yes, he had been describing her, but he had to throw in the sunglasses comment because he didn't want to make it too obvious, and besides, it would make her question him, and questions were good because it kept him in her mind. that was fantastic, because he wanted to be in her in some shape of form most of the time. yes, that was crude, but they'd been through a lot together, and so they could support each other and know what the other was feeling. they understood what each other had been through, like no one else could. he'd never find someone who understood what he'd been like. vicky had seen him at his lowest point, and that was why she was so special. not many people had seen him a broken mess, and he didn't like the idea of a bunch of people seeing that either, but with vicky, she'd known how bad he'd gotten and how he'd felt. he would have killed himself if it wouldn't have been such a big loss for the world. how bad was that? but he'd been pulled out of the black by kai, and he did owe him his life, basically. "i'll look forward to your attempts"
he retorted with a smirk, wondering how she'd try. kaleb's heart sank as her cold voice filled his ears. sure, he was cold and hated zane and all that crap, but there were still feelings there, as much as he hated them, and himself for having them for that matter. zane was the one thing that he couldn't be mean for. it was the one topic where the other old kaleb, the nice one, came through just a little. "vicky, he's the man we loved. and he's gone. do you feel nothing?" he asked her. nothing was exactly what he felt. where that little feeling used to be that zane was okay, there was nothing. it had ebbed away slowly, but had dissapeared around the time he got the letter from azkaban. it was like their connection was severed, and he felt nothing where zane used to be. that scared him.[/blockquote] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - TAGGED victoria benett LYRICS nasty habits by You Me At Six CLOTHES clickeh COUNT 542 NOTES warning, he's changed again lol (; CREDIT EMMA !?
