Surely it was an evil thing for her to feel as comfortable as she currently did? The only male apart from ones in her family that she felt this sense of ease around was the boy she’d spent most of her childhood with. How was it possible that he could achieve this same feeling within minutes? Well, it wasn’t a matter of minutes, because despite how longer or shorter an amount of time it seemed to her, the fact was that she had taken a large proportion of important time out of her schedule to talk to him. Now, she could recognise that they’d been sat on this grass for a lot longer than she’d initially thought. This was supported by the position of the summer sun, which had moved considerably from its original place in the sky, since she’d first sat down. Could that much time have been wasted with nothing productive coming out of it? It seemed so unlike her. But then the whole thing seemed so unlike her. If someone had told her that she’d be in an arranged marriage with someone that she was coming to like, just one year ago, she’d have laughed, because there would have been nothing more absurd than that. There was no way that someone like her would have ever been forced into anything against her will. Or so she had thought. Everything seemed to change for the worse when her mother managed to disappear completely though. And here they were.
Did he miss something? The truth was that he was missing so much. He was missing out on her feelings that were happening during every moment he spoke. He was missing out on her thoughts rushing past at three hundred miles per hour. But she couldn’t tell him any of this; mostly because she didn’t want to admit the effects a simple conversation was having on her thoughts and emotions. Ignoring all of the contemplation, she couldn’t chose going with the risky thought over the rational side of her brain. The rational side had never let her down before, and she preferred a more consistent substance to one that could only cause her yet more problems to deal with. The final decision was reached when she shook her head, indicating her answer. “You didn’t miss anything,”
she claimed, pushing the other thoughts to the back of her head. “You want us to get to know each other better?” she repeated, as though the very idea was one that was weird. Especially when he was the one saying it. As if his behaviour wasn’t confusing enough, now he was going against everything he proclaimed to think about her and the marriage? None of this made sense. Maybe she’d have to discuss it with someone later. An unwelcome thought, but probably a correct one. “Well, I’m pretty confident that you wouldn’t attempt to assault me, Joshua.” She couldn’t imagine him forcing himself upon her; despite whichever strong teenage boy hormones he claimed to have. It was weird, because she never normally got a good impression of boys upfront, but he seemed a little bit different. That wasn’t to say that she was now happy to marry him, and they were going to fall in love, and look back upon their lives and wonder why they hadn’t said anything before. Whatever emotions he was maintaining that he had, it didn’t matter, because they were nothing like the ones she seemed to be having. Therefore there was no need for either of them to expect him to explain which emotions he was talking about. It certainly wouldn’t be anything like the images that had crossed her mind, the minute his body had made the smallest amount of contact with her own. He wasn’t the one constantly glancing back and forth, making sure that he hadn’t picked up on any of her mistakes. Once again, she was made aware of the time, and wondered how long they had been there. Surely she had things to do? Better things? Well, it was no lie that she would have to retire to her room soon, but she couldn’t help but find herself slightly disappointed at the idea of leaving what had turned out to be such an…interesting conversation. “I was joking,” she stated, finding herself more than surprised at what she was saying. “You don’t have to warn me every time.. I mean, we’d be here forever.” [/blockquote][/blockquote] tagged joshua andrew dalton. word count erm, a fair few words. and the outfit click here to see i have to say took foreverrr and everr :o

how did he feel so comfortable around her? It didn't make sense. He was meant to be against marrying her, but if the marriage was like this meeting then he was thinking that maybe it wouldn't be that bad. How odd was that? no, he wasn't getting married, ever, and although Jaslene wouldn't be a bad person to get married to, he wasn't ready, and he could tell that neither was she. It was odd, but he'd only ever felt this comfortable around his family, so it was odd that this feeling should be transferred to Jaslene. He didn't expect it, but it wasn't a bad thing, actually. Which was also odd. He'd not really known her that long, but he felt like he could trust her, which was crazy, but in a way their futures were tied together. All he could see was his future in her hands, and it didn't look that bad, considering that he could have ended up with someone he hated and who liked like a toad. How long had they been there, anyway? It must have been a long time, because it seemed like they'd been there for days, in the way that they'd progressed from two people nodding to each other in the corridor, to two people laughing and joking on the grass, and knowing that soon enough they'd be married if they couldn't get out of it. He wondered what she was thinking, how she was feeling. She must be missing her mother, because she’d disappeared without a word, and now everything had changed for Jaslene. Her father had gone off the rails, her mother was missing, and she was in an arranged marriage with someone who she didn’t really know. Wow, that was life changing.
Joshua watched her have some sort of thought process. He could see she was thinking by the look on her face, and he couldn't help but wish that he could hear what she was thinking. You see, Joshua Dalton wanted to know what she really thought of him. he knew that he was a charmer, and he could get people to love him within seconds if he needed them to. and sometimes even if he didn't. He was funny, smart, and he could flirt, not to mention the fact that he was good looking and well raised, so that he had copious manners, and was a gentleman through and through. He was the guy who took a girl to dinner and pulled out a chair for her. He held the door open, and always carried an umbrella when out, so that if it rained he could hold it for her and keep her dry. "Oh. Good. I don't like missing things, it's odd being left out"
He joked, grinning his odd grin. "Yes. I want to take you out to dinner. Is that okay?" He asked, hoping it would help them be on the same page, so that they could figure out a way out of this marriage proposal. He also wanted to get to know her better, because she seemed like a nice girl, and after all this was over, he couldn't see them not being friends at least. Was it odd that he was suggesting this? Yes, but he wanted to make it up to her after all the insults. He wanted to show her the real Joshua Dalton, who was funny, witty, made people laugh, and could treat a woman right, because he didn’t want her getting the idea that he was a sick, perverted asshole who cared for nothing more than sex. Sure, sex was great. Or would be great, when he had it, but it wasn’t actually all he thought about, despite what some people thought. At least she knew something about him. "Good. I wouldn't do that, I'm not that type of guy" Josh answered with a smile, happy that she seemed to be getting some ideas about what he really was like. He had hormones and whatever, sure, but he didn't agree with assault, it was disgusting. He wasn't about to do that. And anyone who did try and do that to Jaslene, he'd string them up and kill them painfully. Not that he wanted to marry her or anything, as lovely as she was and what not, but he wasn't ready to marry anyone at all. what time was it? he had to go and tell Beth what was going on. But he didn't want to go. He kind of wanted to stay, because this conversation had been rather interesting to say the least, and he kind of was enjoying the company. "Oh. Good. because it would take forever! Imagine at the alter, 'you may kiss the bride' Did she tell you I could?" Josh said, laughing at the mental image that he got. "I've got to go, I need to tell Beth everything. It's been nice, Jaslene." He said with a smile, pushing himself up and brushing off the dirt. He leant down and brushed a kiss on her cheek, before wandering away to the castle to find his sister.
